Delicious! My new favorite restaurant in South Lake

  • *****

Best Thai ! Great portions ...

Decor and staff friendliness are both 5 stars. But being a Thai cuisine lover, food is just fair tasting for me. Their version of Tom Yum is not that soury, lacking of that distinct taste of a Tom Yum soup should be. Orange chicken ,on the other hand is very sour. Their Thai fried rice is superb though.

  • *****

Really great lunch prices for the Tahoe area. Ample vegetarian options, though the potstickers that came with our tofu curry noodles had meat in them. And the $2 Thai iced teas ($3 with boba) were delicious. Yum!

    Amazing

Sooooo good! Excellent food, excellent service. Hats off to this place!!!

  • *****

Got the yellow curry chicken lunch special and it was amazing! Was enough to take home for leftovers

  • *****

Excellent food and prompt service. Rivals some of the best Thai restaurants in Toronto. Will be back for sure.

  • *****

Loved this place. The food was delicious and the proportions were good. The atmosphere and staff were warm and welcoming. The Hangover Noodles would be a repeat for me. Prices were great. Plan on going there again on our next visit to Tahoe.

  • *****

This place is unbelievable! Had the crab pad Thai and avocado curry. One of the best Thai food I have ate at and I have ate at many Thai places before.

  • *****

Very very good. Great flavor and very good portions. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and Steak and Pepper. The only thing that didn't make it a 5 star was the fact that some of the chicken was a little cold.

  • *****

We eat Thai food all the time and this one was amazing! Excellent service. Very warm and inviting restaurant.
    Highly recommended .

  • *****

Not the best portion of shrimp I've ever had but the shrimps were fairly tasty. Also, my meal was not supposed to come with potatoes but rather a more endless supply of veggies. Overall, not entirely sold on my experience but I will be back to try other dishes because of the exceptional service me and my sister received! Thank you, My Thai Cuisine of Lake Tahoe!

  • *****

We just had a very nice lunch here! Super friendly staff and all were very attentive and kept our water glasses full at all times. We got the pot stickers, beef chow mein, pork fried rice and royal seafood curry. All were very delicious. Baby loved both the noodles and the rice. My only complaint is that they gave our 2 year old a kids cup with no lid so she inevitably spilled water everywhere :/
Overall we were very happy and cannot wait to go back.

  • *****

Great! The service is SO friendly, and the food we ordered was pretty darn good! We got the veggie egg rolls (yum!!), chicken coconut soup (yum!) but not enough broth, their version of drunken noodle - hangover noodle (ok not great - not enough flavor!), the my Thai salad (wow!) what a presentation! This salad comes as a boat! Truly some of the coolest salad craftsmanship I've ever seen. The only things I would point out is that the boba in the Thai ice tea tasted old (kinda hard) and the hang over noodle needed more spice - besides that we had a great meal with great service!!!

  • *****

Some of best tasting and beautiful presentation of Thai food and we are from S. F. Where there are hundreds of Thai restaurants

  • *****

FANTASTIC!! Fast and friendly service. The Honey duck with spinach and peanut sauce was fabulous!! My husband LOVED his MY THAI SIZZLING!, perfect amount of favor and spice. You must have the avacado crab egg roles!!!! So so yummy!! We ordered pad Thai to go so we could have more later!!

  • *****

Best Thai food I've had in a long time. Better than any option in bay area. Service is a bit slow since it is always crowded and people also order stuff to go... But worth the wait.

  • *****

Absolutely brilliant, I'm a local and get food here quite a bit. The staff is always incredibly nice and helpful every time I visit and the food is nothing less than exceptional, I've never had a dish here that I haven't thought was awesome. Would definitely recommend. (The Pad See Ew is the best)

  • *****

We ordered the larb, hangover noodles, Thai tea and pineapple fried rice. The larb is a minced meat dish with fresher veggies. The dish was surprising filling/large for a salad/appetizer. The hangover noodles was pretty good but the beef was not tender enough. The pineapple fried rice was perfect. This meal was more than enough for 2 people.

  • *****

Great Thai Food! Had the crab rangoon (fried crab cream cheese wontons) as appetizer, the shrimp sweet chili and my partner had the avocado curry. Big portions and the waiter were very attentive.

  • *****

This place was expectedly busy during dinner time. We were lucky to get one of the last few tables at around 630pm on a weekday. The service was slow at the beginning that we couldn't get anyone to take our orders, but caught up later that we didn't wait for too long to have all our food delivered.

I liked the papaya salad the most, generous portion with perfect sweet and sour seasoning. Tom Yum (with tofu) was not among the best I have had in Thai restaurants. The flavor lacked the complexity I expected in a good Tom Yum. We also ordered Basil Lamb from the House Special category. The taste was really nice but there were a few pieces of lamb were not fully cooked. We didn't want to send the whole dish back so just took the raw ones out.

It was not a perfect dinner but we left feeling quite satisfied. Will probably go back when we visit south Lake Tahoe next time.

I love the food here at My Thai Cusine, and it is one of the best thai cusines I have been to. The Pad Thai here is cooked just right and the Spicy Crispy Catfish was very flavorful! The Catfish was one of the best dishes I have tasted here at My Thai. The catfish was definately crispy, fresh, and very well marinated. On our second time here, we ordered sticky rice that went very well with the catfish. Th service here is amazing and I would definately come back a third time!

  • *****

This delightful restaurant has become not only a place to look forward to when coming to Lake Tahoe, but actually a primary reason. I ate at My Thai for the first time right after it opened about 2 years ago. I'm a huge fan of Thai food and knew from the first bite that this was not your ordinary Thai kitchen but one that would become a hit in Lake Tahoe. The curries are tasty and spiced at your preference. Myself I have trouble getting past the Pad Thai with shrimp, which is every bit as good as my good Montre Uumoran from Bangkok made in his home. The service is excellent and the hosts are as gracious as you'd expect eating at someone's home! I love this restaurant!

  • *****

This unassuming little place has the best Thai food I've ever had... And I've had a lot! All the regulars plus many unique dishes, like the excellent avocado curry. The only problem was we all over-ate because we couldn't stop eating.

  • *****

Good place, we ordered Pad Thai, Panama Curry, Red and Yellow curry they all were good quantity was also quite good compared to other thai restaurant but Thai ice tea was not upto the mark. All together I rate it average restaurant

  • *****

Loved it. Ordered the Veggie delight and eggplant lovers

  • *****

Our Spicy Basil Chicken and Ginger Seafood dishes were awesome tonight. Highly recommended!

  • *****

I was really surprised and blown away by the food.
We had the papaya salad/mild, drunken noodle/pork medium spice, lamb basil/ medium spice.

The portions, generous and beautifully plated.

We requested the condiments that came with nam pla prik, the fish sauce and a delicious red hot sauce. They were really good but honestly not necessary as the dishes already were so perfectly flavored.

  • *****

Little hole in the wall that looks questionable when you drive by . Don't judge a book by its cover rings true for this awesome spot . About as authentic as it gets. Food is nothing short of perfect. 5 star service . One of the best Thai food experiences I've had .

  • *****

    Excellent food
Was able to get mild to spicy food
We got basil chicken, red curry chicken, hangover noodle and pad Thai
    All are great
Not as spicy as a typical San Fran Thai but you can always spice it up yourself if needed

  • *****

We ordered red curry with chicken, hangover noodles (I am used to hearing this dish being called drunken noodles on the east coast) with shrimp, spicy basil with chicken, basil fried rice and yellow curry with beef. The food was authentic. It was also delicious and well seasoned. The full sized portions, aka dinner portions, were generous. We also ordered two of the dishes off the lunch menu. The lunch servings were reasonable. Overall service was prompt. To top of the luxurious lunch we ordered fried bananas with coconut ice cream. It was enough for 4 people to share. They did forget to put in one of our orders which we put in halfway through the meal. They apologized profusely. Other than that, it was a great experience.

  • *****

Great food! Service was good as well- my friend's dish was too spicy so they replaced it quickly enough. Decent prices.

  • *****

Delicious. This place is amazing. The yellow chicken curry and stuffed cream cheese Rangoons are my favorite. Unlike Orchids Thai. They actually answer their phone! We order carry out mostly. But the restaurant is cute and warm and inviting. It is a great ambience. I'm happy this place is here. Tahoe needed another Thai restaurant

  • *****

I love Thai food and has had it all over the place, in US and even Thailand. So I wasn't expecting an out of this world experience, but turns out, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of my meal. I followed some recommendations to get the catfish curry, and also ordered the beef. pad see yew. Just a note that the catfish does have bone, for those interested in trying. The pad see yew was delicious, although a little heavy on the salt. Not a bad spot to get some Thai food after a long day in the sun at Lake Tahoe!

  • *****

Great food! My hubby ordered a chicken pad Thai and I ordered the shrimp and scallop dish. Both were exceptional, however the brown rice I got had no flavor and was too sticky. The spring rolls were very fresh but the peanut sauce was a bit lumpy. Overall a really good experience as the main dishes were delicious!

  • *****

Great for take-out for a large group that included vegetarians. We were impressed given many of us are from very foodie areas in SF and eat Thai often.

They got our order for 14 made up quickly and we all enjoyed our food. Favorites were the yellow curry, red curry, and hangover noodles. Papaya salad and fresh rolls were pretty good but not the absolute best. Would do 4.5 stars if I could.

  • *****

This is the best Thai food I have had outside the Bay Area and actually rivals many spots I enjoyed in San Fran and Marin.

As vegetarians we have nearly unlimited choices here. Their tofu is lightly fried (a touch crispy) and is seasoned uniquely for each dish. We have enjoyed hangover noodles, pad Thai, Thai fried rice and another dish (I can't remember off-hand) that we substituted tofu for chicken based on a previous reviewers recommendation.

Their Thai fried rice is the best I have had, especially given it is with tofu. Since I stopped eating seafood this year, it has been difficult to find flavorful fried rice. Theirs has lots of eggs (can omit for vegans) and I am crazy about the flavor of their sauce and seasoning.

Their egg rolls are awesome too!

It gets super busy, so you must be patient.

  • *****

Second time here and still had great food. Dinner was crowded which I think is a good sign. We waited only 30 min and worth it.

  • *****

Really top notch Thai food in South Lake. Decor and layout are on point -- small and lively area but doesn't feel squeezed. Service is friendly and prompt. No reservations, but wait time was only about 10 minutes for us on a Saturday at 6:30 in the summer.

  • *****

We came by twice during my vacation at Tahoe lake. We had 7 different foods and all noodle dishes were great.

Orange chicken was not that good, though it is more like Chinese food rather than Thai.

  • *****

Having been here 3 times now on 3 different trips, I can safely say this is my favorite Thai food restaurant outside of Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas. Each time the food has been nothing short of absolute deliciousness. Highlights for me are the orange chicken, panang curry, and (never had better) pad see ew. If your in Tahoe and enjoy Thai food, don't skip this place. It beats eating burgers or pizza day in day out. In fact. I might be coming back for lunch tomorrow :)

Back for lunch! (not the day after but a day after that; and I'm sorry I didn't eat here yesterday too) Everything was excellent again as expected. His time 4 lunch specials and the amount of food for the price is crazy. Each trip back from now on will probably involve food from here on a daily basis.

Here's hoping My Thai doesn't change before we make it up to Tahoe again!

  • *****

I would come here again for:
    * curry
    * basil lamb

  • *****

Very good Thai food, my fav for that place is the lamb basil, you can ask how spicy you want. Be ready though to have a long wait since they are always busy and the service of my opinion could be better.

  • *****

The BEST Thai food we've had!!! Service was great, super cheap, and yellow curry was phenomenal!!!

  • *****

I'm a big fan of this place. The owners are actually Indonesian, which I didn't find out until we brought along my family who recognized their accent.

Be prepared to wait, especially in the wintertime when Tahoe is full of visitors. There's not a lot of room to wait in the lobby, so you might have to stand outside. That being said, it's surprisingly good Thai food for Lake Tahoe, so you might want to wait.

Be adventurous and try lots of dishes. Everything we've ordered there has been delicious!

  • *****

Had the yellow curry, was delicious! Wish LA had a that place that was this tasty. Great food and great service!

  • *****

Soooo good! Best Thai food I have had in ages. Really good Kapaow and Yellow curry!! Wish we had Thai food this good in LA!!

  • *****

Pros super yummy food! Nice ambience. Cons limited parking But I highly recommend it before hitting the road to Sac.

  • *****

You know it's a good sign when you walk into a thai restaurant and its brim full with oriental, and Indian families eating. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. They had the best thai food I've ever had, coupled with the best customer service I think I've ever received in any restaurant ever. They were extremely friendly and helpful. They bent over backwards to help us with our 3 kids...... And the food!!! I could probably eat here three times a day! So fresh and very reasonably priced for Tahoe. Jip had absolutely outstanding service. If I had a restaurant I would try to recruit her. She was amazing! Eat here!!!!

  • *****

One the best Thai food I have eaten. Hangover noodles to die for as well as their curry's were very tasty. We usually eat spicy food and their spice was just perfect.

  • *****

After a long and strenuous hike, my friends and I were starving and looking for a rewarding meal. We happened to stumble upon this place while scanning the list of nearby places, and my goodness, I'm glad we chose this place. I can honestly say that this is one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been to! I ordered the Special Pad Thai and the moment I tasted it, I was amazed by how flavorful and delicious it was. There was something different about the taste and I'm not sure what it was, but I loved it. We also ordered the crab fried rice, Pad See Ew, and Thai tea with boba which were all amazing too.

  • *****

I eat a lot of Thai food, but this has to be my favorite which makes me a little sad because it's 8hrs away from my home :-( We ordered yellow curry, pad see ew, hang over noodles, chicken satay and mongolian beef. They were all beyond our expectations yummy! The manager (owner?) was very personable and really took time to make sure we were ok and and went that extra mile to make us feel at home. It was an enjoyable experience, definitely my favorite meal while on vacation here. Highly highly recommend it, call ahead cause the place was packed!

  • *****

Surprisingly great Thai food in the South Lake Tahoe area.

Had the chicken satay very delicious with their special vinegar cucumber sauce.
Drunken noodles was also delicious. The beef was a little bit overcooked for my liking, but it worked for everyone else.
Also tried the Tom kha with pork.

Recommend checking this place out. It does get a little busy during lunch time, but well worth the wait!

  • *****

Great food!! I mean it! great food! I been to Thailand several times mostly just to eat Thai food.
    Our favorites
    Red curry
    Spicy eggplant
    Hangover noodles

The owners and staff are great as well!

We are in at least once a week and are never disappointed.

  • *****

Phenomenal! I was safe and ordered my Thai standards (Pad See Ew and Basil Fried Rice), but my parents were more adventurous and ordered the Chicken Lotus and Avocado Curry. Everything was really good, with generous portions and fast, friendly service.

The menu has a lot of interesting options, like avocado curry (served in a fried tortilla!) and avocado spring rolls. There also quite a few vegetarian options. The presentation is really nice for all of the dishes.

They have a really hopping business, lots of tables and lots of people. Highly recommended!

  • *****

Excellent Thai food served quickly, attentive service, nice wood cabin meets Thai decor, and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return when in the area again.

  • *****

Best Thai food I've had in a long time, and definitely the best you'll find in Tahoe.

  • *****

I love this place! The food is ALWAYS good, the portions are huge, and the servers are nice. You will surely get your money's worth! Being a Tahoe local, I've been here a lot of times, and I've never had a bad experience with them. They are consistent in making the best Thai food and offering the friendliest service. They do get busy in the evenings (because people know it's a great place to go), but it's all worth the wait!

PS. Get the Thai Iced Tea with Boba. It goes well with anything! ;)

  • *****

The food was awesome. We had pumpkin curry, pad see ew, and tom kha. Our favorite is the pad see ew. Water service is excellent, but The food was waited on for too long without servers checking on us.

  • *****

Finding this place was like finding that last extra fry at the bottom of the bag: unexpected but oh so satisfying.

I came with a group of 13 people so we had quite a bit to eat.

Pad see ew - perfectly marinated, not too salty. The noodles were the perfect texture. I preferred the beef pad see ew over the chicken

Avocado curry - I don't think I've ever had avocado curry before but the avocado totally works. It has a delicate sweetness with just the right amount of spice. The shrimps were gigantic, this was one of our favorite

Pineapple fried rice - YASSSSSSS. I think I licked my plate clean.

Spicy basil chicken, fried wontons, papaya salad deserve an honorable mention, but the other dishes were better.

Avoid the orange chicken. Not that it was bad, but there are more worthwhile things to order on the menu. Why would you be #basic and order that at a Thai restaurant anyways?

  • *****

Phenomenal! Every dish my family ordered was amazing. Beef hangover noodles were unbelievable.

  • *****

By far my favorite place to eat in town. My Thai is somewhere I frequent at least once a week both lunch and dinner. The lunch by far is the best deal for a quality meal on a budget. Fixed with your preferred lunch entree, salad with peanut sauce(which is delicious) an app and soup for less than 10$. You cant go wrong with any curry and I highly recommend the crab fried rice and the Suki Hang seafood. The service here is usually on point and always remember us and make us feel welcome. They are always packed so if you are calling in for a pick up give your self some time. My only complaint is that their Tom Yum soup is almost 4$ more than Orchids, which sucks because it is one of my favorite dishes and it forces me to make the trip to Orchids. All in all you cant be disappointed here unless there is something wrong with your taste buds.

  • *****

Absolutely fabulous! Worth every star. I hoped they would be good, this is above good. I have food allergies and can only have a select few dishes. Today I had papaya salad (no nuts) and coconut soup (vegetarian). The papaya salad was delicious, they had small chunks of lime scattered within, that really added to the flavor. The coconut soup was so good I got worried and only had 1/2 a cup or so (I was afraid it had real dairy in it). I didn't get sick (yay!!!), so I just had the leftover soup for lunch. So flipping delicious!! Great vegetable choices.

  • *****

Wish I could give an extra star for the beautiful server who gave me lime and salt for my sore throat when she heard I had lost my voice. Second time here and this is going to be our go to place for food in Tahoe. Amazing Thai food and friendly staff!

  • *****

This restaurant has exceeded all my expectations for Thai food in the area! Most amazing Thai restaurant in ALL of northern Nevada! It's challenging finding a decent place for southeast Asian cuisine that reminds me of being back in my home country here, until I found My Thai. All of the staff, especially Julius, are so friendly and the food is beyond delicious! Their mango with sticky rice dessert is the best compared to other mango with sticky rice in the area. Highly recommend if you love curry and/or Thai food:)!

  • *****

Ooh that was good! My new favorite place in SLT.

Hangover noodles - very tasty. Unanimously the favorite among our party of three.
Pad Thai - this gets props for all the fresh vegetables.
Basil Lamb - second favorite among the group.
My Thai Lotus Chicken - this dish is bomb in flavor. It's so packed full of sweet and spice that you almost have to dilute it with some steamed rice. I loved it, the other two thought it was okay.

So what makes this different from many other Thai places I've been to is that the portions are larger than average. We ordered four dishes for the three of us because we were hungry. We had enough leftover for another person if not more. Also the service is great. They filled my water about four times. And the interior has a great ambiance. I highly recommend.

Thai Food in Tahoe? Say it ain't so!!

We celebrated my best friend's birthday in Tahoe this past weekend. We were looking for a yummy dinner spot for our Friday night dinner that was nearby our rental home and we found My Thai Cuisine.

We live in SGV so we're surrounded by asian food. But Tahoe has a little bit of everything here and there, so we were pleasantly surprised to find this place in this little vacation town. Easy to find along the road and once you go inside, it's like super Thailand to the max! The food was great too. Everyone had a little bit of everything, from Tom Yum soup to Basil Fried Rice to Beef Panang and it was all delicious. I thought it would be an issue seating us because we were a large group of 11 and came right around the dinner hour. But they made room for us quickly and we were able to get seated and order right away. Hooray!

They even brought out a small dish of ice cream with a candle for my best friend as we were wrapping up dinner. So nice of them! We sang happy birthday and went off on our merry way with our full tummies. Great place to dine while in Tahoe!!

  • *****

Enjoyed Thai ice tea with tapioca, drunkard noodles and yellow curry. Good food and nice ambience

  • *****

My husband and I stopped in for lunch today and we're thrilled with the experience. What a gem in the middle of Lake Tahoe! The interior is small and quaint- very Thai. I had red curry with tofu (very good) and my husband had avocado curry. He said it's the best Thai he's ever had and will remember Tahoe, in part, for that dish! Highly recommend!

  • *****

Very delicious Thai food and good service!
Prices aren't that expensive as well. I would most definitely recommend eating here! Wish the restaurant was much bigger but other than that, it's pretty good.

  • *****

Been coming here for two years now! Every Time we are up in Tahoe, I make a beeline for their delicious hangover noodles, catfish curry, yellow chicken curry, basil lamb, and mango sticky rice. I order a lot of food so I can have left overs for a few meals. Their food is really authentic, and it's quite amazing especially since i think the SF Bay Area has its share of awesome Thai places, and I simply don't expect Tahoe to have authentic ethnic foods.

Their servers are super nice and attentive, and food portions are big. Lots of parking and the place can get packed with people, but I've never waited for more than 15 min for a table.

  • *****

Absolutely the best! I may drive 100 miles just to order again :-)

  • *****

    Amazing experience

  • *****

Found our go-to for Thai food in South Tahoe. Everything was so flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Food came out quickly, even though they were busy. The service was excellent as well. Recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Thai food in the area.

  • *****

Amazing food!!! Very cute decor and staff attentive. We will be back during our stay her yhis week again. A MUST!

  • *****

Food and service here were both excellent when I went... I got the tofu yellow curry and my husband got basil beef. Both were great, the food portions were good and the price was reasonable. I definitely recommend this restaurant for Thai food in this area.

  • *****

Went there June 2015 and I've been DYING to come back! Delicious!

  • *****

Wow! What a gem! I read all the great reviews and had to try it. It did not disappoint! Cozy and well decorated with Thai ambience Buddha shrine and all! We ordered the avocado curry with shrimp and it was super yummy! We also had the Hangover noodles and Thai fried rice. Everything was super yummy!! Very authentic Thai flavors! Been here twice in 3 days Will come back on my next trip! Highly recommend it!

  • *****

This was a really excellent experience. The food was delicious, portions were huge, great presentation and good service.

I was visiting Tahoe for the weekend and really wanted to eat something other than the standard bar and grill. Yelp lead me here (thanks Yelp!). Luckily, my party of 5 arrived at 6:00 pm on a Saturday and were seated in a couple minutes. When we left around 7:30 pm, there was a huge wait.

We ordered the tom kha soup, pad thai special, pumpkin curry and basil lamb. The presentation was awesome, each plate had flowers made of carrots and a healthy heap of shredded red cabbage. My aunts appreciated the extra veggies. The pumpkin curry came in a fried dough bowl, which had yummy crispy edges. Each plate was huge, the 5 of us could've easily been full off of 3 dishes.

Tom kha: was just okay. This is my favorite Thai dish and I always order it, so my expectations are pretty high. I like a balance of milky and sour and this was very milky. Bonus points for really good tofu though.

Pad thai: great flavor, above average yummy.

Pumpkin curry: even the mild was a tad spicy. Good mix of green beans, eggplant, bell peppers and meat. Good flavor.

Basil lamb: really yummy! The lamb was flavorful and there was lots of basil.

I would highly recommend My Thai Cuisine.

  • *****

I had lunch here twice and dinner once. They are better every time I eat here! Lunch prices are very reasonable and food is excellent with friendly, prompt service. I will definitely eat here again!

  • *****

We enjoyed our dinner at My Thai restaurant last night. The service was very good. The yellow curry tasted good in a good sized portion. The Pad Thai Special was quite good and its portion size was almost 3 times of what I would normally get at a Bay Area Thai restaurant. The only disappointment was the Thai egg rolls. There were 5 of them but they didn't taste good to me. We'll definitely come back to this restaurant when we visit Lake Tahoe again.

  • *****

Wow. I was not expecting such great Thai food in Lake Tahoe.
We had the Papaya salad, hangover noodles, and the royal duck curry. All of it was amazing, particularly the curry. Not only was it amazing, it was generous in portion size and reasonably priced.
The decor is fitting and staff is friendly and professional.

It was so good we visited again for lunch the next day. We got the Pad Thai and My Thai Curry lunch specials. Still generous portions, still high quality, and an outstanding value as well.

  • *****

This place is really good! During a recent trip to Tahoe, my husband, my friend and I decided on Thai for lunch and I am so glad we chose My Thai.

The place is cute. Super small, and it has a rustic, log cabin feel but Thai decor. The staff is very friendly. They serve lemon water, which was quite refreshing on such a hot day. We also each had a Thai iced tea. Yum!!

The lunch specials are a great deal. The prices are very reasonable, there's a good selection, and the portions were huge. I had hangover noodles with shrimp and it was delicious. Great flavor, lots of veggies, huge shrimp that were done perfectly, and yummy, chewy, super broad noodles. My husband had red curry with chicken- I tried it and it was also delicious. My friend loved her meal too (I can't remember what she got though!). The lunch specials come with the soup of the day, the appetizer of the day, and a salad. The soup had tons of veggies and tofu bits and an excellent flavor. The appetizer was a fried triangle of dough with seasoned chicken and water chestnuts inside. Yum! I like that they change up the appetizers every day, I can't wait to go back and see what they've got next time.

And there will be a next time for sure! What a great little place.

  • *****

Amazing Thai food. Thai cuisine isn't one of my husband's favorites, but he said the My Thai Chicken Lotus was one of the best meals he's ever had.

  • *****

Have been to other Thai places around the lake. Once my husband and I stopped here and the restaurant was closed. Last minute decision to have dinner there tonight. Authentic food, extremely nice staff. We were trying to decide in between dishes and the waitress gave us suggestions. Great food, friendly staff, like the Buddha on the wall. Will definitely go back.

  • *****

This place was so good!!! Food tastes authentic and the atmosphere was nice. Also $8 lunch special....you can't beat it. Will be back next time we are in south lake for sure!

So charming house with great decor and fantastic food. The staff is super nice and the food delicious with HUGE portions. We had the sweet and sour soup with lemon grass and chicken and the duck super spicy dish. Both tasted authentic and amazing. The place was highly ranked on Yelp and it is true.

  • *****

I'm Southeast Asian and the flavors at My Thai Cuisine are as authentic as it gets! We ordered the Pad See Ew, Thai style fried rice, and chicken red curry. The Pad See Ew and Thai style fried rice are fragrant and the spices hit just right. The red curry was more what you would find at an average thai restaurant in the US but still good. Highly recommend the PSE and fried rice!

  • *****

I love Thai cuisine and have eaten at many Thai restaurants. This might just be the best I have ever had!! My boyfriend and I were in the South Lake Tahoe area and stopped here for lunch. We ordered crab rangoons, spicy basil fried rice (THE best ever!!) and red curry. Everything was absolutely delicious!! The service was impeccable and food came promptly. They serve very generous quantities (we couldn't finish and had to take a box to-go). I would highly recommend this place to everyone I know! Keep up the great job!!

  • *****

After reading all the Yelp reviews, we decided to give it a try. It was delicious! My aunt who is traveling with us from Australia, and has tasted Thai food all over the world, proclaimed this was "the best Thai food ever!". We all agreed! We will definitely be back!

  • *****

The best Thai food ever...we are vacationing from Menifee California and have been to many Thai food all around LA and SD but this one is the best. On our 1st visit we had their seafood fried rice, hangover noodles, tomyum soup...delicious! 2nd visit we had their chicken fried rice, tomkha soup and basil calamari ...excellent! We'll be back S. Lake Tahoe just to eat at My Thai ! $!@#\&*() _%=

  • *****

We are from Vancouver BC where we have many great Thai restaurants. My Thai rates right up there with the best at home. Continued sucess!

  • *****

    AWESOME food!
Orange tofu was to die for! Too bad it's in Tahoe and I don't live in Tahoe

  • *****

Went here last night for the first time on a monday night. Fairly busy but we were greeted and seated promptly. It's very cute. Staff is very friendly, quick and attentive. Female staff wear traditional Thai outfits.
They kindly catered to my vegan request. The peanut sauce in the Rama long tofu was a bit heavy and too thick but still good. The Eggplant lovers dish was good...eggplant melt in your mouth like I like it.

Much better than Orchid's Thai which has super slow service, understaffed and unorganized waiting process. Glad I found this place. Will be back next time we are in Tahoe.

  • *****

Friendly service. Tasty food. Went with a decent size group and had quite a variety of dishes that all had great flavor. The pumpkin in the pumpkin curry needed to be cooked a little longer but that would be my only nitpicky thing. Everything from the dishes to the rice to the iced coffee were the perfect thing for a long day of meetings.

  • *****

I had the best fried rice here. Spicy basil seafood fried rice! Generous portion and very tasty. If they keep this up, it will soon be the best asian restaurant in Lake Tahoe.

  • *****

Amazing, delicious food VERY well presented. Some of their dishes are real works of art due to the creative presentation. We had the red curry soup (Tom Yum?) and it was terrific -- very full bodied but not TOO spicy. We also had the fried banana with coconut ice cream -- it was divine

The staff is attentive and gracious. It is a great place for groups and people traveling with children. We liked it so much we went there TWICE during our 4 days-stay in Tahoe! My daughter and I will always have it on our list of favorite restaurants when we go to Tahoe :=)

  • *****

Best Thai food we've had anywhere. Spice level was just what we asked for. Restaurant feels like you just walked into a restaurant in Thailand. Servers in Thai clothing. Had the Shrimp Loves Scallop in an oyster sauce, amazing. Wife had the Red Curry the best she has had.
Service was great and very friendly.

  • *****

Such amazing food! Staff was very nice and accommodating we enjoyed our food so much can't wait to come back!

  • *****

Soo...we came back on our 2nd annual tahoe trip as promised, tired and starving after our first time actually skiing/snowboarding, and the food is still amazing.

Plus, one of the employees actually remembered us! They had such good service all throughout our meal here and our hostess actually rush ordered our dishes for us which I thought was very sweet. I tried the mango curry this time instead of pumpkin and omg, it was amazeballs. And the thai iced tea tasted so good after a day out in the snow.

I appreciate the staff here and I hope to see them again next year!!

  • *****

This is probably the first non-chain restaurant I've eaten at in Tahoe.

Didn't have high expectations since we were out of the city and the food was pretty good! Yes you would have had better somewhere else but when you're far away and have limited choices you might end up here.

Pad Thai & Pad See Ew - Great taste with a large portion size, had to take a box away for this.
Beef Panang - Great with a nice little kick (can set how spicy you'd like it)
Tom Yum Soup - I think this was my favorite of all the food we ordered and would recommend this on a winter night.

Service was pretty good and quick. Thought I would be stuck waiting that Friday night I went but most of the people waiting were take out orders.

  • *****

Papaya salad is wonderful and spicy, drunken noodles w/ chicken is my favourite and the mango curry is a must! Foe something a little different but delicious try ordering the Pad See Ew with scallops! They also serve delicious Thai style iced teas and coffees. Service is always very warm and friendly. Be prepared to wait for a table during the busy seasons so get there early.

  • *****

My family and I went here for dinner and were quite happy with the food - it was relatively crowded but the service didn't suffer as a result. The various foods we had were very tasty. In particular we enjoyed the duck curry.

    Solid option for Tahoe.

  • *****

It was my first time here. Excellent service and the food is great!!!! They ask you how spicy you want ur food and that's a plus for me!!!!! I will have to come back when I'm in town!!!!!!

  • *****

I came yesterday. Today we have to leave, but we make sure to come back here again for the delicious Thai food in town. We love the Pad Thai. It's super delicious. Don't forget to order their Papaya salad too. Just try the Thai iced coffee. Really good too. The customer service is excellent.

  • *****

    What a hidden spot!
We just went in there and got the chicken sate with peanut sauce, the ginger chicken and the spivey house noodles. The food was really delicious and the service crew is so helpful.

  • *****

You can only fine authentic thai place like this in the bay area. From how spicy you want it to be. This place is legit. Will definitely come back to this place.

  • *****

I usually go to Orchid Thai, but this time I decided to try something new and I am glad I did. We ordered the Tom Yum, papaya salad, hangover noodles, duck curry, shrimp love scallop and mango sticky rice. Mostly everything was good and authentic. The papaya salad was lacking some flavor, prob because it did not have the dried shrimp and the mango sticky rice was a little overcooked. Other than that, I would def go back the next time I am in tahoe.

  • *****

again! me and my friend come to ski at S.Lake Tahoe.
from the begin to the end..yum! i order pad thai special and my friend order hangover noodle .. we can't wait to ho back again.

  • *****

Tom kha was great. Chicken satay was average, but worth ordering.

  • *****

What a find! We found this place randomly a few months ago on a family trip up here from the bay area. We came back up for a 2 night trip and went to eat here twice. Even my 2 year requested it. The food is great and so is the service. Will definitely be on our must go list every time we are up here.

  • *****

Papaya salad with grill beef and larb chicken is to die for the best Thai food in Lake Tahoe, the test of Thai

  • *****

First time coming to this place . "Great Thai food" This is a good choice when you are looking for Thai food and very authentic . The food is very delicious, serving size is perfect, price reasonable ,place is clean and server very friendly . I recommend when you visit Lake Tahoe

  • *****

I have to say, as much as I love Tahoe, a lot of the food options here, aren't great. I've been to My Thai twice because it's one of the best things in Tahoe. Coming from the Bay Area, where there are Thai restaurants a plenty, I can say that this place in Tahoe, can stand up to a lot of them. If you're in Tahoe, and looking for great food, head this way. I've ordered the Spicy Catfish Curry both times, and both times I've been pleased - make sure to eat the green peppercorns.

PS: The portions are huge, great if you're local, not so much if you're visiting and don't have anywhere to save the leftovers.

  • *****

Awesome food!! Best thai in Tahoe. Yum Wootsin and mango curry is amazing. Panang curry is also one of my favorites.

The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming.

The food is priced competitively maintaining the best value for your buck in this town. Lunch special is the best deal around.

    Love this place!

  • *****

Great service , great tasting food , nice environment . Would definitely recommend if you like this type of food.

Pro tip! If you don't eat a lot, share a meal with a friend. Huge portions!! Only $11-$13 per plate also!

  • *****

Great food and great service. I loved the Pineapple fried rice and my fianc loved the red curry. The Thai ice tea is also very good.

  • *****

Good food & fast . Must try the papaya salad & green chicken curry. Soups are good too!

  • *****

I've been to my Thai twice and enjoyed both times. the panang curry is absolutely delicious and is nice and spicy. the spicy basil fried rice is great too. the one thing I'm not a fan of is the peanut sauce, it's more of a paste than a sauce and way to oily.

  • *****

It was the first time I came here. I had honey duck with the brown rice and thai ice coffee. The food was delicious! Good service and nice decor. Definitely come back!

  • *****

Place has a good atmosphere. Thai decorations.

Food was so great, prices are affordable and big servings. The staff are also friendly. We always come here and we always enjoy eating.

My favorite is tom yum with shrimp and they have the best pad thai. Recommending it for group of people. You will love it. The best Thai Restaurant we tried at South Lake Tahoe.

  • *****

Their sense of balance in using spices is just in the right spot for me and my wife, and we had our fair share of Thai food many different places. Definitely a good find in our travel to Tahoe.

  • *****

Good place to eat Thai food. We enjoy the crab meat fried rice, pad Thai is not bad at all

  • *****

We had the catfish Curry and the mango curry with chicken and shrimp, some of the best Currys I have ever had. We also had the fresh spring rolls with shrimp but they hardly had any shrimp. The service was excellent, our waitress was very friendly and attentive and was happy to get us anything we needed. I would definitely recommend My Thai restaurant.

  • *****

After snowboarding, we're starving. So i need heavy food, I ordered Fried rice with chicken. Worth to wait

  • *****

Driving through South Lake Tahoe my eyes were drawn to this Thai restaurant. Pleasant surprise after the overpriced fare of the West Shore where a dollar buys you 25 cents. Here $7.95 gets you a plate that you can't finish. Very good food and happy customers at all the tables. I think they they have turned down the heat quite a bit to appease those with a weak palette.
But that can be remedied with the condiments. I suggest that you ask for spicy if you think you can take it. I will definitely come back. I SF I might give it four stars, but it is all relative. This place will help you feel like you are back in an urban area where there is competition. Great prices and very good food!

  • *****

Delicious Thai food and great service as well. Food came out very fast after ordering and tasted good. The curry was a little too spicy but still tasted good!

  • *****

We went there last week. Food was delicious. Owner was really friendly and nice. Server also recommended which is the best. She was very helpful. We were super hungry... Awesome place to go again!!!!

  • *****

This has to be the best place to eat in tahoe!!! You heard it from a local.

  • *****

Typical thai menu with added other asian cuisine but with not so typical quality! in this price point this is top notch compared to thai restaurants in bay area and SoCal combined. First visit we had wonton soup, broth taste authentic, just how grandpa cooks it. Crab rangoon is a must try for appetizer, And thai fried rice, rice freshly cooked, not skimpy with ingredients, taste good too, not oily. 2nd visit, Honey duck, crispy duck with honey and peanut sauce, suprisingly not oily for a fried duck, peanut sauce complimented the dish, highly recommended, Vegetable delight, they sure made mixed vegetables delightful to eat, sauce was good sprinkled with browned garlic. would be back for sure!

  • *****

generous portions, great food and great customer service. highly recommend the cream cheese rangoons, royal duck curry, crab fried rice, and thai iced tea!

  • *****

As a vegan, it can be hard to find decent options when traveling. The Yelp consensus is right; this place is great. It's as good as some of my favorite Thai places back home in the Bay Area. Spice level 3 was even a bit much for me; I'll be getting 2 next time.

  • *****

After the hardcore snowshoeing, my friends and I came here for dinner. I got wet and so cold, I got duck noodle soup. It was very good. The service was very friendly. He even noticed that I needed chopsticks before asking. I was impressed.

  • *****

This place is really good. Fun atmosphere and a cool Thai decor.

Our favorites were the Hangover Noodles and the wonton soup - both were really good.

We came on a Thursday night around 8pm and it was full but we were seated in just a few minutes.

    Nice job!

  • *****

Came here with some friends and it's a great spot. Seated us immediately in this comfy place.

I had the Thai cashew chicken which was delicious. Stole some orange chicken and hangover noodles from my friends which was great as well.

We started the meal with chicken satay and wonton soup - both were awesome.

  • *****

They have a lot of food to choose from. I ordered the drunken noodles which was very delicious. It was very flavorful and you could taste that it was freshly made. Definetely recom

  • *****

Best Thai restaurant I've eaten here in California, better than sf.... Who would think Tahoe has this.....highly recommend the mango curry and chicken lotus...

  • *****

Have been eating here for years, before it was My Thai and had different owners, and will continue eating here for years to come. The food is always hot and fresh and sooo good!! I've tried almost everything on the menu at least once. My go to is always the sweet and sour chicken and the ginger chicken. The hangover noodles are honestly the best I've ever had. The vegetable tempura is fantastic, I could just eat that it's so good!! The soup is awesome and the curry is even better, panang is my favorite! I eat here at least once a week when I'm in town and you should to.

  • *****

This place was so good we had to come here for a second day in a row, once for Saturday night dinner around 6:30PM (the wait to be seated was around 45 minutes and about 30 minutes for our food to arrive), & again for Sunday night dinner around 5PM where we were seated right away and the food took about 15 minutes.

The first night we ordered Red Curry, our favorite of the night! We wouldn't recommend the orange chicken here, their crispy duck was also a notable mention though (the peanut sauce with spinach was yummy)!

Tonight we ordered their Papaya Salad which was super refreshing, their Royal Duck Curry, Basil Lamb, and Hangover noodles (a bit too oily for my taste but still good nonetheless).

I'd say of the 7 dishes, we'd recommend the Basil Lamb and definitely the crispy duck (forgot the name of it, sorry :/).

Also the customer service was very good! They'd check up on us and still remained calm and composure with it being busy. They even remembered us from last night!

Overall, would recommend this place to everybody, one of my favorite if not my favorite Thai restaurant!

  • *****

I wish I had a second or even third stomach!!! The avocado curry is pretty to look at and even better to eat. Lot's of fresh veggies (not frozen like many Thai places.) I could have the hangover noodle daily. Both dishes had excellent flavor. Can't wait to be hungry again & come back!

  • *****

This is our go-to spot when we order take out. Great service, excellent food and fair prices. We often get out cravings for this place. Never disappointed . Eat in or take it home.. Awesome either way

    1/17/2016. Dinner

One of those Tahoe weekends where you expect the snow storm next day and the whole world is enjoying the evening earlier after day long skiing, snowboarding, tubing, etc. After trying my usual Tahoe places, wanted to try a new place and Thai was the calling.

Reservation Call: Knowing that it's a weekend evening rush-hour I tried to call them to book a table for four. I believe I called at least 5-6 times but it kept ringing or came engaged. Later came
to know that their phone had some issues. But I guess due to insane rush they decided not to pick up call. Understandable :)

Parking, The wait and Ambience: So with failed reservation calls and burning hunger, we reach to the restaurant. There wasn't any space for parking in the main but luckily they have a lot further ahead too and it worked out. Wait area is kinda very small with a small bench that can sit 3 people, maybe cause most of the days they don't see crazy rush like this. And from wait area you can see the entire restaurant. Not too small, not too big. A good Thai decor, good vibes, colorful. Restaurant opens to a small wait area as above with a hostess counter and tables on left with a small sections on behind. Noise is average mostly.

Staff & Service: Courteous staff overall. In spite of people asking for their to-go orders, waiting to book a table or just plainly complaining cause of hunger, they managed to keep their cool and accommodate everyone. Even the speed at which they served turned out to be quite awesome considering the orders they had to serve to all those hungry people in big groups.

Food/Menu: It's like a standard Thai restaurant menu with usual suspects in appetizers and main course. Also the sections that offers usual choices of chicken, sea food, vegetarian options. However, appetizer wise they have only 4 veggie option. And oddly enough veggie menu has no Green Curry (when inquired the waitress said, it contains fish sauce! And most of the other veggie Thai restaurants don't tell you that). We ordered all veggie stuff and again waitress was honest and informative enough to tell us that the portions are bigger than usual and our order is good to go. Oh! Like most other places, they also offer Singha, Tsingtao and other usual Pan-Asian beer choices. Food was quite good, whatever little options they had turned out to be quite awesome and well made. One of the better Thai food places I have been to, and I eat a lot of Thai.

Overall: Considering the crazy day, insane rush, hungry people and in spite of reservation issues, I would rate it 4 star. No more going to Orchid Thai while I'm at Tahoe now. This is the place.

  • *****

OMG. Been here twice with my friend and my husband. This place is Amazing and clean. Food are delicious and perfect taste. Best Thai Restaurant i even had in my whole life. My husband took me here with my friend. And we love this place. Staff are amazing, friendly and helpful with us. The serving of food is worth it of what you pay. This place is always busy. Because of thier food. Yay.. I will miss this restaurant when i go back yo San Francisco.

  • *****

Great authentic Thai food and friendly staff! My wife is Thai and the staff is always happy to speak Thai with her.

  • *****

Awesome!! Ate here February 14 )) MMM.. really, really delicious. Like in Thailand. Don't remember the name of the meal, but it was rice, shrimp and scramble egg. A beer Singha was as a bonus for the meal ($ 4 small bottle). My husband ate teriyaki chicken with rice, delicious too. Expect crowd !!!!

p.s. the over all cost for diner $ 31.

We were visiting from the Bay Area and were craving Asian food. We saw the rating on yelp for My Thai and gave it a try, albeit with a drop of skepticism.

We went on a weekday and the restaurant was very busy. Everything was so good, we had pad see ew with pork, green curry with beef, tom ga ka and garlic tofu. I was sad that I got full pretty quickly, probably because I was tired, because the dishes were all so good and I had to stop while everyone in our party kept enjoying the dinner. The servings are generous and filled with really fresh veggies as well as protein of your choosing. I lived in Thailand way back in my childhood and although I can't say I'm an expert on Thai food anymore, the dishes spoke to me and made me feel nostalgic, so that must be a good sign. Keep up the great quality My Thai, we will be back!

  • *****

Absolutely Amazing! Loads of people during a holiday weekend, so we had to wait roughly 30 minutes, but it was so worth the wait. Delicious Thai food, great service, and they get people in and out quick. Fully recommend making this a dinner stop during your stay in Tahoe.

  • *****

Dined here while vacationing in Tahoe. Definately will try again when im in the area. All our dishes were amazing and the service was excellent

  • *****

Tom kha , and mango curry are a must try. We liked the food so much that we visited it twice in our two day visit to Tahoe

  • *****

Went there during long weekend in January, place was packed with lot of people waiting.
    Try reserving if possible.

    Great food, great service.
One of the few restaurants open late in that area is definately a plus!

  • *****

We judged My Thai as the best Thai Restaurant within 50 miles. Delicious authentic food, attentive service, staff friendly, great prices, comfortable seating, and not too crowded.

  • *****

This place is literally heaven on earth. My wife and I ate ever meal here, lunch and dinner, the entire time we stayed in Lake Tahoe on our honeymoon. Our car caught fire on the way back home, and was totaled. We got sucked into a horrible time at the awful local hospital due to a bought of strep throat, and our honeymoon basically sunk us into financial ruin. However, this restaurant alone made the trip worth it. It's the best restaurant the earth has known. Literally.

  • *****

Awesome food! We came here on Friday night and was seated right away. The place looked cozy and well decorated. Out of all delicious items in a menu we chose "Pot of Tom Yum" and Pad Thai Special. Both of the items were delicious . Food not only tasted great but also looked fabulous. Highly recommend to stop by

  • *****

I came here with my husband and friends, we waited for about 15-20 mins Saturday night, we ordered as appetizers the thai style egg rolls and tempura shrimp. As entre we ordered pumpkin red curry, thai fried rice, and hangover noodles and with our dishes were delicious. The only bad thing aside for the wait is that we could not get dessert because their kitchen closed at 9:30. .... But if you want delicious Thai food you MUST visit My Thai!

  • *****

After four hours in traffic hungry, the boyfriend, daughter and I decided to turn around to stay in for the night due to the stormy weather and go home in the morning, we stopped by My Thai for some pad Thai and we were more glad than ever that we did, food was delicious, all three items were perfect, service was definitely great! I totally recommend if you are in crave for some Thai food!!

  • *****

Awsome place. Fair prices and the FOOD.... Wow! Can't really explain how good it is. Just go here and try it.

  • *****

I ate in hurry forgot to take photo. But I was satisfied. Much better than chicken fingers and fries at ski resort.

  • *****

    Very tasty...we'll be back.

We went on a Saturday night in January and they were packed to the gills for good reason. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table. There's not a lot of room to wait inside, so we just put a movie on in the minivan.

Their recipes are a little different than those of typical Thai restaurants in the Bay Area, but no less tasty. The Panang Curry was notably different but very good. The Pad See Ew was fantastic and had lots of extra vegetables and toppings. I'll get both again next time. The Tom Yum soup (usually one of my favorites) was a little disappointing, though. Not enough lemongrass or lime leaves? Don't know. I'll probably skip it next time.

What they did best of all is the heat level for my kids. I love it pretty spicy, but it was just me and my kids. So, we ordered everything "mild". Most Thai restaurants remove 100% of all heat (and therefore flavor) when you ask for "mild". But the folks at My Thai got the Tom Yum soup and the Panang Curry heat levels perfect. A little kick without making the kids cry. They loved it.

We had been to Orchids Thai Restaurant down the street a few times, I like My Thai better now.

  • *****

My husband and I visited My Thai on Jan. 30, 2016 and after having a delicious dinner and great service, I accidentally left my purse at the restaurant. When I realized I had left it at the restaurant I began to pray that they would be honest and return my purse to me since I had a lot of cash and credit cards in it. I called the restaurant and praise the Lord they told me they had my purse and when I picked it up everything was still in my purse. Thank you so much My Thai for being honest and trustworthy in returning my purse to me. Thank you for being trustworthy to your guests. I truly appreciate your service and will return for the best Thai food in Tahoe! Blessings to you at My Thai. May God bless you.

  • *****

The decor is odd, but as a man from Kansas City visiting a Thai Restaurant inside a log cabin, things could be stranger. Everything is a log cabin in Tahoe! The food however, is very well done. Kansas City and surrounding areas have great Thai selections, and this place gave them a run for the money. The waitstaff are overwhelmed on fast nights, but somehow get it done. It feels very authentic when the meals come, and the servers are gracious and quick. I tried the Pad Thai, which was excellent, and the egg rolls; all very tasty and clean. Would definitely go back, when I'm back in SLT, because the SLT is where Santa Claus vacations. Kind of a happy accident, as when we got into town, it was like 9 pm, and they were open. DO IT. You'll love it.

  • *****

Excellent food, service and ambiance at reasonable prices. So far the best restaurant in South Lake Tahoe.

  • *****

Great service. Awesome flavor. Great portion size. Highly recommended!!!

  • *****

Food was great. Staff was very friendly and prices were more than reasonable given the Tahoe area.

  • *****

Great food and very quaint atmosphere - I would eat here every day if I could!

  • *****

I was really impressed with the service! My order wasn't as good as I wanted to, but our waitress really took good care of us! I did enjoy my friends' dishes since the portion were good. Definitely coming back again. The Pad See Ew was my favorite, couldn't stop eating it.

  • *****

Best Thai food in Tahoe! I didn't even know what I was missing, but I will never go to another Thai restaurant in town ever again.

My first impression was that this place is beautifully decorated. It's cozy and welcoming.

The staff was exceptional! Very friendly and very prompt.

Of course, the highlight was the food! My taste buds are still dancing. We came over lunch. The place was full, but we didn't have to wait for a table. The lunch special is an amazing deal. I think it was around $7.95 for an entree, soup, salad, and small appetizer. Heckofa deal! I got the hangover noodles and my boyfriend got the chicken pad Thai. Both of us agreed that it's the best Thai food we've ever had. The portions are very generous for lunch. I even had leftovers. Can't wait to dig into those later!

This place is fantastic. From the moment we stepped in the door to the moment we left, we were incredibly satisfied. Will definitely be back soon!

  • *****

If youre in Tahoe looking to get thai food, this it the place to go. Even if you're not looking for a thai place or even dont like thai food, this is the place to go!!
    ITS THAT GOOD!

(their tom yum soap was the best)

  • *****

    Hangover noodles were really tasty!

  • *****

Outstanding service and food. The egg rolls, wontons, and entrees tasted very fresh. There are subtle uses of spices and oils that are tastefully conveyed with each bite. I've had a lot of Thai food. This is the definitive spot in Tahoe.

  • *****

Excellent Thai food and service. We ordered the basil chicken, spicy chicken curry, hangover noodles, and tom kha soup. All delicious! Also ask for the chili sauces- great for an extra kick.

  • *****

So good!! It's small so we had a wait but totally worth it. This is legit Thai food cooked by people from Thailand. I had the hangover noodles, the pad Thai, and the duck noodle soup. All amazing!! Also if you want supplemental spice, try the red sauce. Zingy!

  • *****

Authentic thai food with huge portions at an affordable price - absolutely worth it. Went there for dinner one night and people were constantly streaming in from 5pm so we knew it had to be good, and it was. Loved the mango curry which was served in a "naan bowl". There was a lot of chicken but not a lot of shrimp, however the juicy mangoes made the whole dish complete. My friend preferred the honey duck entree which had the perfect peanut sauce to complement the meat. We went back the next day for lunch specials for $7.95 - soup, appetiser, side salad and an entree. Service was great and we had a small chat with the Thai owner. Though they had only been in business for 1.5 years, they have definitely built a good reputation with the restaurant being consistently filled.

  • *****

Best service and best thai food in Tahoe- Shhhh don't tell anyone but they beat my local Palo Alto favorite Thai place as well.

    The experience:

We walked in and the place was crowded they start filling up when their doors open at 5pm and it is non-stop customers until they close. BUT... we didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes the first time we came and the second time we came in it was only a 20 minutes wait.

Friendly staff who are knowledgable about Thai food makes this place great. I even over heard a really kind waitress explaining spiciness levels several times to a person who wasn't familiar with just how spicy Thai food can be. For me and my hubby - we say the spicier the better, Bring on the heat!!! And they sure did! We love the Tom Yum soup it is the best I have ever had and I have eaten a lot of Thai food in my lifetime.

Beautiful wooden ceiling and walls made me feel like i was in a cabin oasis - complete with a beautiful gold buddha - the customers loved taking pictures of.

Oh... one more thing... the Thai Iced Tea with Bobba... Amazing and they have great Asian beers!

good food and friendly staff.. must try my thai fried rice... keep it up guys.. * if u come on holiday season be ready to wait, is worth it..

We stopped by here for a late lunch yesterday and there was a long line but we were seated as promised within 30 mins. The food were large portions very unusual for Thai restaurants where the portions were small. The pad Thai I ordered is the best so far not as sweet as most pad thai I've tried. We also ordered Hangover Noodles, Tom yum and their special can't remember the name and also orange chicken. All were very delicious The two waiters spoke in Bahasa Indo and of course I spoke to them in my broken Indo. The service was good and this is one busy place. We will definitely go there again when we are in Lake Tahoe. The staff were all nice and friendly.

Come here when we come to south lake tahoe. It's so delicious , never been disappointed with the food. Unfortunately, it's crammed & prepare to have a small space. Food totally worth the wait time though. They also give you a good amount of portions. Would recommend this place to anyone in the area!

  • *****

Great food good service, highly recommend mango curry and pad Thaispecial. Oh the Thai ice tea with boba is the best. It's not too sweet. And I will be back next year.

  • *****

    30 min. To be seated.
    15 min. To order.
40 min. To get the food.
I was so upset with this long wait till the food finally arrived.
It was very delicious. I would definitely recommend this place for the food to go.
Just because you will starve before u will be served.

  • *****

Nice ambiance, great service, friendly owner and staffs. We ordered Tom Yum Gung, Pad See Eew, and Green Curry. While the Pad See Eew and Green Curry were awesome, the Tom Yum Gung was so so. It missed the lemon grass and needs more mushroom

  • *****

Hangover Beef noodles and Shrimp Tom Yum soup were delicious. Decent size portion. Friendly staffs. There was only one female staff but I thought she was pretty cute. Thai tea is only $3.50! Wish I gotten that but I was on a cut.

  • *****

The food was great after a fun day exploring heavenly village and el dorado beach. I ordered hangover noodles and shared tom yum for our hot soup. Both were yummy and exceeded my expectations for Thai food in this area.

The food was 4 stars and the customer service deserves 100 stars. The hostess was patient and nice. She really stepped up to the plate when we locked our keys (in ignition) and our phones in the car while putting on tire chains in their back parking lot.

She let us borrow her phone to look up locksmiths and make phone calls. Then, she had one of her staff for assistance and he helped us unlock the door using tools (screwdriver and rod) so we wouldn't have to pay for a locksmith or wait. The staff member barely spoke English but his assistance was priceless. It saved the day as we in a hurry to get back to SF.

They didn't expect any thing in return for their major help, only asked for us to come see them again. I definitely plan to stop by next time!

  • *****

5 stars for their welcoming and friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and great food. What's more to say.

  • *****

The foods taste pretty good, authentic & great service. The owner, Julius, an Indonesian is very nice and very accommodating.

  • *****

Yummy...went for lunch during the summer and enjoyed a full lunch menu dish of shrimp and veggies. My husband brought home two delish meals tonight. Fresh, tasty and will defiantly visit again!

  • *****

I had high expectations prior to eating here due to the great Yelp reviews and was not disappointed whatsoever!

It was packed when we got in here but the guy in the front was smart enough to take our order as we waited so it would be ready by the time we were seated which was awesome. Everything we ordered was amazing (egg rolls, red curry, yellow curry, & rice) and the portions are great!

Also best Thai ice tea I've ever had!!

  • *****

Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant. My boyfriend and I shamelessly are here 3 days in a row lol. The restaurant is cozy. The food is perfection. The service is fast and friendly. Try the cream cheese crab ranggoon!!!

  • *****

Great food with a nice presentation. I think with the scale 1 to 5, 5 being the hottest they could put more heat in it. My favorite Thai in Tahoe.

  • *****

    Love this place

  • *****

After a full day of skiing, we are so happy to meet such an authentic Thai restaurant. the Tom Yin soup drew away all the coldness inside our body. All the food are authentic and good price, good service. We plan to live in a hotel close to the restaurant on our next visit to Lake Tahoe.

Excellent food and beautiful presentation. The restaurant was full and people waiting for a table. Very small waiting area. I can't wait to come back here and try the curry. Great soup and beautiful presentation. Try the pineapple rice. Great.

  • *****

Love the ambience of the place! I'm a person who enjoys Thai food and this place is as close it can get to traditional authentic thai cuisine! Try their My Thai Fried Rice and Shrimp Asparagus! My friends and I went to heaven eating those two dishes :D The staff at MyThai are extremely friendly - always smiling and being so cheerful. We went to the restaurant yesterday and it was full house. Good thing the staff were able to handle crowd control so well and one thing I realize was that even though there were no seats in the restaurant, there were so many take-out orders. Good food, great location. If you want thai food, My Thai is the place to go to at Lake Tahoe:D

  • *****

Delicious food, decent prices, bustling. Friendly service.

  • *****

Absolutely the best Thai food I've eaten since visiting Thailand last year. I had the Steamed Dumplings, Panang Curry and Yum Woonsen Salad. The ingredients were fresh and the presentation was beautiful. The decor is traditional Thai and the restaurant and bathrooms were very clean and tidy. What impressed me most was the service. My waitress was a young Thai lady named Lexi and it was obvious she knew her craft. It felt like I was having a delicious meal with my family and I had a "loved one" making sure my every dietary need was being met. If you are ever passing through South Lake Tahoe and are in the mood for Asian fare, stop by the My Thai Cuisine Restaurant and ask for Lexi to be your waitress, you will not be disappointed! Thanks for an absolutely delicious meal and wonderful five-star service! George Francis, LA, CA.

Probably the best Thai food I have ever had! Friendly staff with amazing food and a unique menu!

This is our favorite Thai place in town. The owners ensure the food is excellent and the service is quick and friendly!

One of the best Thai cuisine eaten in a long time... Drunken noodle and basil lamb were our 2 choices and we weren't disappointed for sure... Spiced up to level you desire from 1-5. I love spicy food so I was in my zone... Will definitely come back on my next visit to South Lake Tahoe

Came here on Sunday, November 15th when it was snowing hella hard. We first went to orchids originally but it was closed, so we decided to come here. Boy were we glad, the food is delicious! We ordered the tom yum chicken, hangover noodles beef, and pineapple fried rice. The hangover noodles were delicious, it had a nice char flavor and was perfectly flavored. Not overly salty or bland. The pineapple fried rice was also really good. The portion size was humongous, and the shrimps were also huge! Really delicious. The service was 5*****. It was spot on, they were so nice and friendly and checked on us a few times. We had the Indonesian server and he was super nice. This Thai restaurant was authentic!

  • *****

Great, authentic Thai with a nice casual atmosphere. Really enjoyed their wonton soup, which was popping with flavors.

  • *****

Great food and great service! We tried the Tom Kha soup and the grilled shrimp curry. If you get the soup ask to have the flat rice noodles added, amazing!! The curry was super spicy which we love but if you don't like spicy I would order something else. Service was impeccable as well! We will be back!

  • *****

Great service, creative decor and tasty food!

Soup stays hot with a unique flame. Lots to choose from on the menu. Will def be back !

  • *****

They have an awesome lunch special, the hostess was super nice. I ordered the Panang curry and she asked me on a scale from 1-5 how spicy I wanted it. I said a 3 and it was perfect! The service is great, and the food is great. Definitely going back.

  • *****

Stopped in for lunch we ordered the crab ragoons and they were the best we ever had! Husband ordered the basil lamb, I got the undrunken noodles, the kid got orange chicken. Everything came very fast and the food was aaaaaamazing! We loved it and will def go back

  • *****

One of my favorite places to eat out in Tahoe. All of their soups are great. Their lunch specials are very affordable and large portions. Would recommend the Panang curry with tofu!

  • *****

I had the mango curry and it was fantastic! The shrimp was fresh, the curry flavorful and creamy, and the best part was the crust! Break it off and dip it in the curry - yum!

  • *****

ordered takeout. The thai eggrolls were just ok, seemed like maybe they had been sitting for a bit and the "shell" was a little chewier rather than that wonderful, melt in your mouth texture you get from fresh fried food. I had the Tom Ka soup, which was really delicious, and my husband had the won ton soup, which he really enjoyed as well.

  • *****

Had a chance to dine here , last year . Authentic Thai , it is . their soup noodles and fried rice are very good .

  • *****

Perfect place to have a dinner nice people, delicious food for sure I'll come back

  • *****

Great Thai food in an area lacking Asian cuisine. It was so good we went there two nights in a row. The Beef Massaman Curry was tender and delicious, and the Duck Curry was amazing. Also enjoyed the Chicken Pad Thai among other dishes. Seemed very authentic with friendly, attentive staff. Had to have the Banana Fritter with Coconut Ice Cream too!

  • *****

Very Good! Reminds me of my favorite Thai places. Had my favorite- Red curry with beef. Everything was great, the seasoning, the beef, broccoli, bamboo, the sauce would make almost anything taste better. The basil had to be fresh since it was so good.

    Good heat at 3/5 stars.

Service was a little lacking but it was pretty busy at 7:00.

  • *****

Best Thai food I've ever had. The curry came in a bowl thing that was delicious, the tea was really good. My boyfriend got soup and it was amazing too. I'll be dreaming about this place for years to come.

  • *****

I've eaten here several times and it is consistently great. I love the variety of curries (my favorite is the avocado curry). They are great to dine-in or to go! If you choose to dine in they are very attentive and keep your glass full.

First time here after the Mt Tellac hike overlooking Lake Tahoe and we were hungry like hell.
So, when i think of Thai food, it is always associated with $$, small portions, and small place.
    BUT..........
Dam, was i wrong. Big portions and delicious and yes, a ok $$.
we had meat of every kind and it was good.
we left with a full stomach with our pants "on" but almost off....due to our big stomach.

    ^-^

  • *****

    Service good. Deco good.
The hangover noodle is tasty. But the portion is pretty small for lunch special compared to a lot of places. We also ordered the Tom Yong. The soup is good. But the chicken meat in the soup is pretty bad. Overall, it was good value for the food, not bad. But meat in the dish not recommended.

  • *****

I know why they are one of the best restaurants in lake tahoe.
it's because the food was awesome! It was our first time in lake tahoe and thanks to trip advisor and yelp, we manage to get a list of good restaurants and places to go to. Me and my friends came from a nice long hike and wanted to eat good food. we came accross my thai cuisine searching on yelp, and oh man, we were not disappointed. food was excellent, service was great! Would love to go back when in tahoe.

  • *****

South Lake Tahoe is not really a place known for good Asian food, so I was surprised at how authentic and delicious the food here turned out to be. My family and I came here over Labor Day weekend for a pretty late lunch (1:30pm or so), and this place was packed! Even when we left at 2:30 ish, there was still a line! Not sure if they take reservations but you should try calling ahead to see if you can sign up on the list first to save some time.

Being the curry fanatic that I am, I went straight for the yellow tofu curry. It was so good! The "mild" spice level here was a true "mild," in my opinion. There was a very slight kick, but nothing that'll make you hold your cup of water throughout the entire meal or anything. The curry had a lot of flavor, and the tofu was good as well. It also came with carrots and potatoes (standard for yellow curry) and those were slow-cooked perfectly as well. They were soft but not soggy. The serving sizes here are HUGE, so if you're not feeling extremely hungry, I'd recommend ordering a dish to share. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food that you get. They have lunch specials on the weekdays so try to go then if you can.

Service here is a tad bit slow. Food took a while to come out and we waited a while before someone finally came to take our order. But besides that, no complaints. The Thai food here is great and I highly recommend stopping by this place if you're in the area.

  • *****

Some of the best Thai food I have ever had! Our service was outstanding too! Definatley reccomend!

I come to South Lake Tahoe quite often for work and never find food that I would bother to Yelp about. This Place is amazing and delicious. I now know where my regular lunch spot will be!

Great Thai food, very nice people. The Tom Kha soup was off the hook delicious, yellow curry also did not disappoint!

  • *****

My husband and I have eaten here many times and it is always amazing! We have tried many different dishes and everyone has been yummy! The service is great, staff is friendly, and the inside is nice and clean. Whether you eat inside or order togo you will be pleased!

  • *****

Interior is bright and inviting, staff smiling and helpful. Started with a pot of Tom Yum with shrimp, medium spiced. It was excellent, the shrimps plump and juicy. The balance of sour, spicy and salty just right! We continued with shrimp curry, which was red and it was delicious as well. Plenty fir two people. Wash it down with Singha ... Life is good!

  • *****

This restaurant serves nothing short on flavor! Good value for the money. Loved the pumpkin red curry with beef. I'll be coming back and recommending to our friends

  • *****

Just finished my lunch here. Very nice food, good taste, good service.. I would recommend coming here atleast once if you visit Tahoe.

  • *****

Best thing about this place is their lunch specials: Perfect portions of select entrees that come with their daily appetizer, soup, and salad for only $7.95! I have had better chicken red curry but their pad thai was amazing... top 3 for me! Great service, nice presentation, and overall great food! I took off a star because the chop sticks I received were already used but our waiter quickly apologized and gave me a new pair. The food was so good, I was able to overlook it. Wish I lived closer so I could come back again and again!

  • *****

Excellent. Really enjoyed the food. Very friendly service! My wife and I came to Tahoe for our Anniversary. Killer food super nice and honest staff. This is now on the top of our Tahoe dining list.

Excellent Thai Food! A great combination of traditional dishes and some unique flavors on classic dishes as well.
We really enjoyed the Crab and egg fried rice,
Mango curry with chicken and tofu and the mango sticky rice.
The staff were very friendly and super accommodating for our needy takeout order. We really enjoyed it all around!
...and inside they have the most beautiful Buddha! Really lovely! Made me smile!

  • *****

Love this place. We had spicy chicken fried rice, cat fish ,shrimp curry n crab fried rice. I will give 5 star for spicy fried rice n shrimp curry while cat fish n crab fried rice were 3 star. Service is great, really busy n delicious food. Great price n portion size.

I came here with my family for lunch on a Sunday (~1 pm) and it was fairly crowded. Thankfully, we only had to wait 5 minutes before being seated. Lots of things on the menu caught my eye, but I ultimately went with the ginger chicken.

As soon as the dish came out I became excited - it looked super yummy! Fortunately, the actual taste did not disappoint. The chicken was on point - definitely the star of the dish. It was cooked well, as the meat was tender, and also had the perfect subtle ginger flavor I was looking for. The vegetables that came with the dish were also great, although some of the baby corn pieces were browning/softer than I would've preferred. The sauce for the entire dish was wonderful, too. I'm usually pretty picky about sauces and don't like most because they feel to heavy, but this one was perfectly light yet still full of flavor (and not too salty).

Overall, I'd highly recommend this place - specifically the ginger chicken. The service was good (although a bit on the slow side) and the food was great, all for a reasonable price. If you're looking for solid Thai food in the Tahoe area, give this place a try!

  • *****

Food is delicious!!! Thai tea is great no complaints at all.... A little wait but worth it!

We were searching for thai cuisine. We decided to go Orchid authentic thai cuisine however when we reached the restaurant, they were closed. The door sign indicated they were going to open at 4pm. We were really hungry and decided to search for the next thai place. Lucky us we found My Thai Cuisine, close to Orchid. When we reached there, they had 20 minutes of wait line. And of the regular customer told us, this place is really good. And whenever he comes here on vacation, he always pays a visit. Every time the waiter or waitress brought out the meals for other tables, it looked appealing with the creative presentation. That made us more excited to wait for our dish. We had the most delicious spicy chicken Thai fried rice, prawn curry, cat fish. However the fish had eggplant which was not fully cooked. Crab fried rice was good too. Overall, awesome experience and this place is definitely worth visiting in our next Tahoe trip.

Went to visit a friend and was looking for a place to have dinner. Passing by My Thai Restaurant and saw their parking lot were crowded, thought might be good food, so my friend and I stopped by. Walked inside, they were very busy but luckily we didn't have to wait long to be seated. Servers were very attentive, so we ordered Pad Thai, Papaya Salad, Tom Yum Soup and Mixed Vegetable with shrimps. Food were amazing and delicious and still had some left to take home for the next day. I want to say, give this restaurant a try if you are looking for authentic Thai Food. I'll be sure to stop by for lunch or dinner here again on the next visit. Thank you My Thai for the good experienced and delicious meals.

When I first walked in the place was very inviting . Everyone had a smile on their face which I think is very important on a first impression with restaurants . The place was very clean everyone was friendly and and stay on top of things such as taking empty plates and filling our cups . We ordered the Tom yum and red curry and it was delicious! Highly recommended !

  • *****

Did a takeout from here while visiting Lake Tahoe. Honestly one of the best Thai food I have ever had. Very spicy but extremely flavorful. I would recommend asking to adjust the spice (depending on your tolerance) level if you are doing a takeout.

  • *****

Great friendly service,Fresh, delicious authentic Thai, me and my family love the food. We'll bs back for sure.

I love this place absolutely amazing try the pumkin curry

Excellent service and food. Friend ordered some hot sake. Waitress returned within moments and said they were out but would send someone to the store. Less than 10 minutes later the sake was being served. All four of our meals arrived at the same time and were delicious. I would recommend My Thai to anyone who is looking for great and reasonably priced Thai food.

  • *****

Good amount of food..for a good price. Didn't like that it was so cramped in there. The place is very small.

  • *****

The food was a 10/10. Service was an 11/10, venue was an 8.5/10. Spicy or not spicy option. Both are flavorful and delicious. Wonderful staff, ordered more to bring home for lunch the next day.

  • *****

This is the best restaurant in California so far! It's probably hard to find one with such authentic and awesome tasty Thai food even in Thailand. Their service is also very good and effective. We have a big party of 8 and we didn't really wait for our food. Highly recommended and will definitely come back here!

  • *****

This place had really good food and I don't normally eat Thai. they accommodated out large party kept our water full, ordering process was easy. They were having problems with the kitchen and sewage the day we went so there was an odd smell but the food and service was good enough to counter that.

  • *****

Great Tom Ka Gai soup and pretty good Pad See Ew. Smaller noodle portion than typical Thai restaurants. The noodles had a nice blend of veggies and scrambled egg, a nice surprise. Fast and friendly service on a Saturday night.

  • *****

Food was good. Service was ok

  • *****

Delish food and drinks. The area is small which made me feel claustrophobic and our dishes did come out not at the same time, but the taste of the food and the service makes up for any negative qualities. Will be back...their happy hour looks good.

  • *****

The food was AMAZING!!!!!!! The Chow Mein is the best thing here. It is waaaay faster then a normal restaurant, and the waiters and waitresses are nice.
The only thing is that they have hindu decorations every where, and some times there is a wait to be seated. I hope I can come back here!
    ~Naomi age 11

This food is AWESOME!! Better then Pei Wei, And once your inside it's faster. I LOVE Chow Mein and Lo Mein and this Chow Mein was a bullseye! But beware! Some items on the menu are burn like the sun!

Very good food and service. Decor goes well. We eat Thai at least once a week in NY and when I saw My Thai I thought we should give it a try after few Mexican dinner and breakfast here in South Lake Tahoe... We were delighted as it doesn't disappoint. The pineapple fried rice was really nice and had nice size shrimps, the Tom Wat soup, coconut base was excellent; even though it says spicy you can ask for non spicy or mild and it wasn't an issue. My 11 y o had a beef pad thai that was delicious. .. The eggs specially I thought and he would give it 5 stars... Pad Nang curry was my husband choice and he enjoyed it but he thought that the chicken Satay was excellent. We had so much food that we bag everything left over even though our hotel room doesn't have a microwave. This will be our hiking lunch tomorrow! :) Overall I very enjoyable dinner in a good atmosphere. .. The parking lot was full too!

  • *****

Delicious food, courteous service! We had pad Thai, yellow curry chicken and the seafood sweet and sour. Very Quick service for a full restaurant. Beautifully decorated inside as well. 100% satisfied.

  • *****

First time visiting. Was recommended by a friend. Good food and service was great. Ordered special pad Thai, chicken skewers and beef panang. I will be back.

  • *****

We ordered about 10 different dishes, and all of them were superb. The tom kha gai was amazing, and the fried rice, orange chicken, and fried banana (for dessert) were some of the best we've had. Service was good despite being very busy. This is a sweet find in South Lake Tahoe.

  • *****

Went here for dinner this evening. While service was a little slow, the food was very good. I recommend the Crab Rangoon and the Basil Lamb. The Pad Thai Crab was a large portion and was good but very mild. Three of us shared two orders and it was plenty. We also shared the Beef Fried Rice with the table which was quite tasty. Overall a very good experience.

We were up at Tahoe a few weeks ago having burgers at Izzy's and happen to start a conversation with a couple from So Cal. They recommended My Thai as their fave Thai restaurant in South lake Tahoe. I put that away in my little head for future use. So, wanting to get up to the Lake again on another weekend and have something interesting to eat, since burgers were not showing much shine from the places we went, Thai sounded like a go. Entering My Thai into my trusty Garmin GPS unit, we were directed there quite easily. It's located just after the "Y" of 89 and 50 as you come in from CA. It's on the right. Parking is a bit tight but we found a place right in front since we made a point to arrive on the off hours of around 3:30pm. We heard this place is packed most weekends, especially in the summers. Packed, I hope meant good food! There were quite a few people for 3:30 in the afternoon.

We get seated at a little 2 top on the side and I insist on a 4 top in the middle of the room as all the nice booths by the windows were fill already and we planned to order a lot of food to share. I guess those little 2 tops are OK, I you are one of those people that eats Thai food Western Style where each person gets their own entree and nobody shares their food, so all you need is room for 2 plates of food. Not us! We like to sample flavors from many dishes to share. Turns out we ordered Five different plates of food, so we need all that room. The server was quite attentive and polite in that Thai sort of way. We started with Thai Iced Teas ($2.00ea), easy on the ice please. Our drinks arrived quickly as we pursued the menu offerings. I see many of the old standbys of satay, coconut soup, curries and the as ever ubiquitous Pad Thai noodles. But look, I see some house specials that look more interesting than the usual suspects. I see, many seafood items, like sauteed ginger fish and dishes of scallops. Duck and catfish are offered as well.

We decided to start with the Larb Gai. ($8.95) It's a meaty salad with ground chicken and a refreshing limey dressing. Also ordered was, Tom Yum Soup (bowl $7.95), the Golden Triangles appetizer ($6.95) describes as a mixed of ground chicken and pepper, water chestnut, wrapped with tortilla then deep fried to golden brown. It didn't sound exactly Thai with a tortilla thrown in, but what the heck, it might be tasty! Entrees ordered were the common Panang Curry chicken ($10.95) served with steamed rice and then one of the house specials. I selected the "Crying Tiger", ($15.95) it sounded exotic and tasty described as Marinated grilled rib eye steak served with papaya salad and special spicy sauce.

Our Larb arrives in no time. The ground chicken was still warm, so nice and fresh! I liked that the lime tang was not so intense as other have been. Good version. The bowl of Tom Yum soup arrives in a square bowl. We passed the bowl and shared. I wasn't too sure if this was a single serving or meant to share. It was a good size to get a taste for two though. One of the better balanced versions I've had with good depth of flavors. The staff here was super good at knowing when to bring the next dish, timing is everything! The golden triangles arrive, looking like no Thai dish I ever had. It resembled a sort of Mexican theme, with fried flour tortilla sandwiching in some fillings in between. The orange colored Thai dipping sauce went well, (guacamole would have worked too!). It was a tasty appetizer, not as greasy as one might expect. I liked it. I can see how they named it Golden Triangles.

As we finished up the appetizers, our first entrees arrives, the Panang Curry. It was presented in an oval shallow bowl with a broccoli garnish. It was an OK version, not bad, but not one of the better versions I've had. It lacked the velvety texture of a fine curry and subtle nuances of spices I love. A-OK 3 stars. Now for my big surprise dish of the "Crying Tiger". It comes with the rib eye meat sliced accompanied by a green papaya salad. The salad was actually quite good, but the poor rib eye .... now I see why the Tiger is Crying! He's so sad the meat is so scrawny and thin and tough. I was expecting a nice piece of Rib Eye Steak, seared nice and med rare on the inside, all thick and juicy charred with Thai spices. Nope .... poor Tiger .... all there was a scrawny piece of meat all tough. So very not worth the $16 price tag for this dish, See my pic.

We declined dessert and cut our losses. Overall, you know this is not a bad place. I'd return, just knowing what to order and not what to try. The interior is cozy with it's log cabin walls and service is cordial. We racked up quite a bill here, but what the hell, ya gotta give things a try once. It's decent and if you are at South Lake Tahoe, not a bad choice.

Beautiful food and people, can't get any better than this

  • *****

Excellent Thai food. In fact the best I've had. We have had the fried rice, yellow curry, and spicy basil chicken. All were excellent. Lunch specials during the week are a good deal. Highly recommended!

  • *****

Delicious. Fresh. Satisfying. Run don't walk. Some of the best Thai food I have ever had.

  • *****

Oh heck yeah. My wife and I are always on the look out for good Thai food and this restaurant met our expectations and then some.

We had the Tom Kah soup, coconut milk with chicken. Very good I do however like a little sour with the soup but, I am just being picky. The soup was very good.
2nd we had the pineapple fried rice. Excellent dish. The shrimp was amazing, very good dish.
3rd, I have saved the best for last. The Alvarado curry is the best curry I have had. I don't care what type of curry I have had this is hands down amazing.

Service was good, staff was friendly and efficient.

With out a doubt one of the best Thai we have visited.

Vegetarians may have difficulty finding a good place to eat, so it was a great find to find My Thai on Highway 50 near the Y in South Lake Tahoe. The Thai Spring rolls were crisp on the outside and the vegetables on the inside were fresh crisp. The Crab Rangoon - what a marvelous pairing of favors!  Cut them in half and put the dipping sauce on them. We ordered pineapple fried rice. It was excellent with fresh flavors of rice and raisins and of course chunks of pineapple throughout. And the cashews were crisp and fresh. I ordered Hangover noodles at three out of five spiciness. It was very good but too spicy for my wife.  Everything was beautifully presented blue and white placesettings. Service was prompt and friendly. What a great find up here.

  • *****

The service was good, atmosphere pleasant, prices reasonable, and most importantly, the food was great!  If we lived in the are we'd surely frequent this establishment.  We love Thai food and this restaurant is among the best.

  • *****

The food is amazing, staffs are very friendly and cheap Thai food in town.

  • *****

The curries taste simply divine. We returned on three (!) days in a row. The service is very effecient and friendly. One of my favorite places in Tahoe.

  • *****

I make it a point to come here every time I'm in Tahoe. First time was on my birthday weekend and they made it a point to serve me a mango sticky rice. I've had a chance to rotate through the menu and haven't had a single thing I didn't like! (Really dig that avocado curry).

  • *****

This is my first time here. When you take a bite into your food a flood of spicys fills your mouth. The portions are plentiful and the food uses substantial ingredients. The staff are friendly and are aware if you need water and will politely ask you if you are done and will remove the extra dishes.

  • *****

Amazing !!! Fast seating even though small place, super good customer service, and the best tasting Thai food I've tried in 8 years! Can't ask for more :)

  • *****

We ordered the catfish with red curry. This dish was full of flavor. A bit o the spicy side but still enough to still enjoy your meal. Came with several pieces of catfish on the bone along with eggplant an full sprigs of peppercorns. Great place to come and dine in. Friendly people here.

  • *****

Excellent Thai food. About the best we've had, but we only had 2 dishes so we must go back. Based on what we had though they get 5 stars. Eat here!!! More later on.

  • *****

Very thing was sooooo great. From the service to the food to the ambience!  The Thom ka, mango curry and pineapple fried rice were wonderful. We love Thai food and this will be a new favorite place when we visit s. Lake Tahoe again!!

  • *****

Decent food and good service. However there were many flies in the restaurant. Very annoying. Restaurant overall looks clean but restroom has a really bad (not so fresh) smell.
Food is authentic enough and delicious with great taste.

  • *****

    Food was awesome!
Tom kah soup was on the money!
    Chicken fried rice was amazing!
    Pad tai noodles were perfect!
    I will definitely be back!

We were in South Lake Tahoe last week Sunday - Wednesday for a quick getaway from the Bay Area.  We got in Sunday around 6:30 and needed to get out to dinner before places closed.  My wife was tasked to find a good place on Yelp which was highly reviewed and had a good number of red stars.  My Thai was the decision as we were debating between this one and another neighboring Thai food place.

I have to say, having only ordered 2 dishes and an appetizer, their style of Thai food was amazing!  We live in the Bay Area, so we are a bit spoiled when it comes to foreign cuisine, and we are always looking for our next great meal.

Having come to South Lake Tahoe for a getaway, we weren't expecting much by way of foreign cuisine, but I have to say that this restaurant delivered bountifully.

It's a small place, but don't let the location or the floor size fool you.  What it lacks in physical dimensions it more than makes up in flavor!

We ordered the Tofu Tod and it didn't disappoint.  Crispy fried on the outside, warm (thankfully not lava hot) creamy inside, and the dipping sauce with crushed peanuts was a great starter.

Our Panang curry followed.  We asked for it as mild as they can make it and with chicken and it was delicious!  Small slivers of white meat chicken with vegetables in a coconut curry and just enough heat to keep you eating.  Delectable!

My son loves Pad Thai and in every Thai restaurant we go to, that is his go-to dish.  I must say, My Thai's Pad Thai Special version was one of the best we've ever had.  Not too sour, perfectly flavored, tons of vegetables, chicken and shrimp.

To add that the service was excellent and very personable and accommodating only adds to this restaurant's charm.

It was so good we came back the next evening for dinner on the suggestion that we try their Hangover Noodles.

We ordered that, an order of their Crab Pad Thai, and their Beef Pepper Steak.  The Hangover Noodles were exceptional although it was a bit spicy for my family, I ate as much as I could and had leftovers that I enjoyed the following afternoon.  The Crab Pad Thai was amazing!  Imagine Pad Thai and all it's intricate flavors of sweet, savory, salty, and spicy and then add a dimension of sweet crab meat.

We finished off our meal with a traditional mango sticky rice.  This usually tastes the same wherever you go and it really just depends on how ripe the mango is which determines how sweet or sour the dessert gets.  This one was a perfect end to our meal.

Would I recommend this place?  If I was being stingy and wanted to keep them to myself, sure.  I wouldn't tell anyone about them.  But, I can't do that.  I totally recommend them!  They deserve as much clientele as they can handle!  I just hope the next time we're back in SLT, they're either still around or that they expanded because of the demand and expanded clientele.

Kob kun mak krab, My Thai.

  • *****

Great food, service and value! Don't miss the Pad Thai Special... yum!

This is our new local go-to spot when we're hankering for Thai food.  Tahoe's been needing a new Thai entry and My Thai really came through.

We've been a few times and in spite of being consistently busy, service has always been quick and super-friendly.

Dishes not to miss are the Mango Curry, My Thai Fried Rice and Spicy Basil with your choice of meat.

Generous portions and fair prices make this a great place for a hungry family to fill up after an active day in the basin!

  • *****

    Excellent lunch Specials

Pad Sai Ew (spelling????) is my favorite

but their curries are good as well

Vegis can be a bit al dente, but always fresh and plentiful!!!

Lovely decor and Thai Iced Tea

Great specials on the board, everytime we try one we love it, only to be sad it is not on the menu the next time!!!

    some highlights have been

    crab fried rice
chicken special with royal fried rice
    eggplant curry

can get quite busy so as a rule, if there is not parking in the lot, you will be waiting about 40 minutes!!!!

small and intimate but still ok with kids

lovely iced flavored water with citrus, formal thai costumes with gracious service

    never disappointed!!!!

  • *****

Awesome thai food, cool decor and Chang beer! Ten stars!

  • *****

This place is so good. We really recommend it. The portions are big. Specially the pad sew and pad Thai. Service was a little slow but it's worth the wait. Great place.

  • *****

Food was good as was service. The one thing that threw me off was the smell of the restaurant when you first enter and also the bad smell in the bathroom. Beer could have been colder but overall the food was delicious and authentic. Highly recommended if you are looking for Thai in the area.

  • *****

Apps: chicken satay, thai spring rolls, and crab ragoons. All good.

I ordered the Green Curry fried rice, a daily special. It was a huge hit that everyone liked.

Other entres ordered were pad thai with both tofu and chicken chicken salad, ginger fish. All were tasty.

Portions are large and enough for 2 people to share.

    Excellent!

  • *****

in Town for the 4th, they took us in despite close to closing.  The food was tremendous, but the service was superb.  A strong 5!!!!

Especially considering, I always have a hard time searching for good places in Tahoe.

  • *****

Excellent authentic Thai. Everything fresh & steaming hot out of the kitchen, generous portions. Perfect seasoning. Tofu Tom Kha soup deliciously wonderful.  My Thai Sizzling was overloaded with a variety of seafood & veggies- easily worth way more than $14.95. Chicken Satay incredible too. Veggie pot stickers were good but not great, still better than many I've had.  Wish we lived here, we'd be back all the time!

  • *****

    This place is amazing!

The line outside and the full car park is an instant clue that this place is good.

Had the my Thai sizzling seafood, it was beautiful. Great selection of seafood and plenty!

The panang curry was excellent. Nice hint of lime with a beautiful sauce.

This place lives up to the adage 'don't judge a book by its cover'

  • *****

Delicious food and attentive service. Authentic Thai food done right. Drunken noodles were very tasty and papaya salad was nicely seasoned. Thai iced tea complimented the meal. Would definitely go back on my next visit to Tahoe.

  • *****

    Amazing food.

  • *****

Delicious Thai cuisine.  Friendly service.  The decor was very traditional Thai. The drunken noodles were tasty and the basil chicken was flavorful.  Rice was cooked to perfection.  Glass was always refilled.
One of the few family owned restaurants that delivers on authentic food, service, and ambience.  A must stop when in Tahoe.

  • *****

4.5 stars by us...we tried this restaurant based on what we read here...for the most part they were correct...very tasty food and spiced right...lovely ambiance and service was very fine...would have earned five stars if not for a very average Tom Kah Kai...we would recommend this place and would certainly return...

  • *****

Real good Thai food with more than adequate serving size. My new place to go in Tahoe.

  • *****

Delicious all dishes were awesome.   They had the "right" taste for all the basics!

Our table had a couple of seafood options, and several veggie options.  The Tofu Tod was awesome.   A bit different sauce than I am used to, but tasty and satisfying.   Pad Thai was delicious.   Tofu Panang was perfect.   Garlic tofu was great and the duck soup was very yummy.

Love the golden Buddha that graces the dining room.   Felt like I was eating in a temple.

Discovered this gem during my visit to south Lake Tahoe.

The food deserves more than 5 stars. Taste and presentation of each item were perfect. Couldn't have asked for anything more. They customized everything to Vegetarian without compromising the signature taste of the dish. Hats off to the chef.
Their food would definitely top the list of Thai restaurants across the U.S.

Service was fair ( run by family members). It was rush hour on a Saturday evening. So, their scramble to satisfy each customer was understand-able.

Ambience is just right. Heavily accented with Traditional Thai collectibles.

Will definitely visit this place again.

  • *****

Great little restaurant with nice ambiance and quick service. We ordered the Spicy Basil (Kapao) with chicken and the Crying Tiger - both at a 3 spicy level which was quite spicy. Loved the Spicy Basil chicken but the Crying Tiger wasn't great and overpriced. The fried bananas with coconut ice cream for dessert was a delicious ending.

  • *****

This was a good experience. The curry was creamy an delicious, the beef not too fatty and everything was cooked well. The peanut sauce was on point and thai tea was delicious! Only downside was the food took a while to come out, but everything was hot and tasted fresh.

  • *****

Our food took a while to come out but our Thai tea was delicious, and we enjoyed our yellow curry and beef w/ oyster sauce. The mango w/ sticky rice was VERY good! Will certainly return when I'm in the area.

  • *****

Love this place. I had the eggplant and my wife had the Panyang Curry. Friendly and helpful.  Not too expensive

  • *****

Best place to eat great service and food  Rivals some of the best thai food.  Hangover noodles  and yellow curry a must  my kids loved it too.  Vegetarian potstickers a nice surprise

  • *****

    Yum!

After a not so great dining experience the night before at a local Italian place that will not be named, we were feeling a little dubious about food in Tahoe. This place was next to the Urgent Care that we wound up in on a Friday night, so we walked over and decided to be brave and try it.

    Best decision EVER.

Delicious crab rangoons. Hangover Noodles were perfectly spicy and chock full of veg and meat (these are normally called drunken noodles). Yellow curry was probably one of the nicest tasting, most fragrant, delicate curries I've had.

We liked it SO well? We came back the next night and had the tom kha. It was INCREDIBLE.

Totally saved our Tahoe dining experience and is some very good Thai food. Great service with a smile, even when they were hopping.

    We'll come back!

  • *****

Excellent taste, pretty good size of serving, good ambience is what I can say about this food place.  The customer service isn't so bad, they even accommodated us to the area of the restaurant not open for service.  I had the beef salad which was succulent in taste.  My friend had vegetables in peanut sauce.  Well, like good friends we shared to get the best of everything.  I highly recommended the place. It looks like they have much to offer on their daily specials. Must try this place!

  • *****

This place is sooo bomb, all dishes taste super good and very authentic. We loved and devoured all of it. 1st time here and I recommend it if you like thai food.

  • *****

Nice place interesting food. I was a little skeptical when I saw some Japanese and Chinese food on the menu but the Thai food was very good    The decor is very nice and the service was good.  They don't like to take credit on charges less than $10

The only qualm I have was the music that was top 40 classics. Didn't seem to fit the atmosphere.  Also I would recommend the tables over the booths as the benches on the booths are slightly too far from the table making me stoop slightly while eating

Hangover noodles were delicious and they asked me how spicey  I wanted them on a scale of 1 to 5.  I chose 3 which was slightly spicier than expected but still very good

  • *****

Pretty good Thai food for Tahoe.  Very good actually.   Loved the green curry with Tofu.  My husband liked his dish as well.   The reason for 4 stars is that my daughter said the Beef in the noodle soup was too chewy. Maybe they can work on that; I'll be back.

  • *****

Wasn't actually expecting Lake Tahoe to have great Thai food. I got the "Hangover Noodles" (essentially a Pad Kee Mao with baby corn), and thought it was delicious. A little spicier than expected, but yummy nonetheless. I really like the interior of the restaurant, pretty bright. The restaurant was very accommodating of our large group. We called in about five minutes ahead of arriving, and found a large table reserved for us upon getting there. Would definitely eat here again!

  • *****

Love the food at My Thai! Pad Thai, panang curry, coconut soup, my Thai fried rice, it's all so good! My favorite lately is the spicy lamb basil. Addicting! Love taking people here. They become instant lovers of Thai food. The young couple that owns it are the best. GO!

  • *****

A quick review for posterity. Great decor and atmosphere. The place was packed at 9:00 P.M. But we were seated within three minutes. Appetizers of fresh spring rolls and fried egg rolls were good. The fresh spring rolls were highlighted by fresh ingredients including mint leaves and basil which made them very tasty. The peanut sauce was good. My red curry chicken and brown rice was not spicy enough even though I asked for a 3 out of 5 in regards to the heat index. My wife asked for a 1 out of five for her Pad Woonsen because she is a wuss. Instead, they switched the request and my wife instantly combusted into flames. I was disappointed by the 1 out of 5 for my red curry. After my wife was extinguished, they brought out another dish which was still a little fiery. I just added a bunch of hot condiments to get the sweat flowing for mine. My curry was delicious and the chicken tasty. Wife thought her food was good. Mom ordered a beautifully displayed vegetable salad that show cased the sous chef's knife skills. Overall, the service was good. There was a server that was blazing fast, kinda wish he was ours for the complete order. The female host was nice though. Hope to visit soon.

  • *****

We totally loved this place. The food was great, the ambience is friendly and cozy and the price is not out of the roof either.

This is located about 5 miles from Harvey's casino and was great for us when we wanted to eat spicy Thai food on a cold night.

We ordered potstickers, vegetarian yellow curry and spicy chicken curry with their jasmine rice. The food was very tasty, prepared to our liking of spice levels. The service was great, they did not take too long to bring out the food.

We will definitely go back here if we stay in South Lake Tahoe again.

  • *****

Absolutely fantastic Thai restaurants, one of best we have eaten. ( and we have eaten in many). The food is very fresh, very tasty, service is excellent and fast. Highly recommend it.

  • *****

When Orchid wasn't open tonight we decided to give this place another try. Let me just say it was AMAZING!!! We had Chicken pad thai, chicken satay, avocado egg rolls and the lobster bites. Omg the lobster bites were the best things we ever tasted. After tonight, I'm done going anywhere else!!!!

  • *****

Simply the best restaurant in Tahoe that we tried. Ate here 3 times during a recent trip, and every meal was outstanding. Service was particularly noteworthy, even the one time at lunch when they were super busy. Prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious and of high quality. The lunch special is a particularly good deal, and they will substitute brown rice for white at no extra charge. If I have any complaint, it's that the lunchtime curry entrees' portions seemed a bit small. Though honestly with all the extras (rice, soup, salad, appetizer) there's plenty enough food, especially for the price. We went up to spiciness level 4 out of 5, and it wasn't too hot. I was just too scared to go for level 5, but it might have been ok. Definitely our new favorite Tahoe restaurant.

  • *****

The line was long as we went during Memorial Day weekend but it's really worth the wait. Even a simple menu as fried rice tasted really delicious. My favorite is the basil lamb though, but it wasn't a lie when the manager say that everything is good in this restaurant

  • *****

By far, the BEST Thai food in SLT! It has changed names a few times but the food has remained GREAT.  My Thai is our default as locals in SLT.  Thanks My Thai!

  • *****

Foods are very good and the prices are fair. Services are good. Just thinking "every dishes tastes like the same--curry"

  • *****

This place is UNREAL!!! Way better than orchids in so many ways. The aura is so calm and happy. The customer service is super kind and polite. The decorations are beautiful. The food is... WOW. I just got my usual pad Thai, and it was the best I've had. It comes with eggs and peanuts and so much more than other restaurants. Don't waste your time anywhere else, come here.

  • *****

Lunch today was very good. The special had Pad See Ew as one of the choices and it was well prepared. The soup was Tom Yum and had a blend of seasonings that worked well, not too sour or spicy. The appetizer was the Golden Triangle, which I had not had before so I have nothing with which to compare it; it was tasty. The Thai Iced tea was a bargain compared to most East Bay restaurants. It was delightful to find this quality of food. I didn't give it 5 Stars because they use Styrofoam take out boxes. It matters to me. I was seated quickly and food was served in a timely manner. It was lunch and not very busy when I arrived. Will go back before I leave.

  • *****

Came here for a friends birthday with a party of 11, which included 3 kids. Our server was very accommodating and friendly. Service was fast and sufficient. Food was good and portions were pretty large. Food was definitely affordable and the next time I am in Tahoe and I want Thai food I will definitely stop back in. Cons: We had an order of fried chicken wonton which were undercooked, definitely a health hazard!

Extremely cute, warm, and cozy ambiance.

  • *****

We had an early dinner there and really enjoyed it! There were 4 of us, and we ordered two red chicken curry dishes, one yellow chicken curry dish, and last, but not least, one spicy chicken curry dish. EVERYTHING was excellent, including the service! Five solid stars!!! We'll be back :-) YUM!!!

  • *****

We love love love this place! We found them on Yelp and visited for the first time.   We enjoy Thai food a lot and their quality and portions were excellent. The ingredients were fresh. The price is also very reasonable.  We ordered the Pad See Ewe, Penang Curry, and the Mango with Sticky Rice. All dishes were very authentic and had superior flavor. The ambiance is so relaxing. They have beautiful table setting with wine glasses. With all that said, the owners were quite accommodating to our toddler and 8 month old baby. They even came up to our table to make sure everything was ok.   This place is a gem in South Lake Tahoe.  We highly recommend this place if you're craving for some outstanding Thai flavor!   We will be coming back for sure! They also have Boba Thai Milk Tea, we have yet to try that one!!!

  • *****

The food at My Thai is excellent.  We have been here for 3 days and eaten here each day.  I tried the Pad Tai, curry and seafood dishes all very very tasty.  I would have to say that the seafood dishes are the best. Can't wait to come back.

  • *****

Great food and service at lunch; will definitely go back for dinner soon.

  • *****

Some very dynamic food choices here, brought the girlfriend and kids and it was exceptional. Will be returning!

  • *****

Beautiful little restaurant, great interior, warm and VERY fast service, wonderful food. My wife loves mango sticky rice, and this one was very good!  5 stars.

  • *****

Good food. Nice service. The pad Thai was great.

  • *****

i've tried all the thai places in south lake (granted, that's not many) and My Thai is the best!

if you are super hungry and don't want to wait a long time come here, because their chefs are lightning fast.

    flavors are so good.

  • *****

The staff were courteous & friendly. I actually like how they dressed in traditional Thai clothes. I ordered the pad thai & my bf got the fried rice. The food came out fairly quick & both were delicious! The portion of the food was well worth it for the price. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for yummy Thai food!

  • *****

Our last night in Tahoe and we were looking for something just a little bit different, we found it!  Throw on a pair of jeans show up it and enjoy!  My wife had curry chicken and I had pad Thai special, absolutely amazing and very authentic.  If you enjoy Thai food and you're in Tahoe please be sure to stop by for a bite, you'll be sure to enjoy, excellent pricing and excellent servings! :-)

  • *****

Great Thai Food, friendly staff, and a great price!

  • *****

Excellent on all counts. We started with the Tom Yum Soup - pretty good, standard.  The Crab Fried Rice and the Pumpkin Curry rocked the tastebuds! A little pricey, $50 bucks with tip for two dishes and a bowl of soup, but we came away totally satisfied!

  • *****

Love this place very authentic ... Came with friends ;) loved it wana come again :) best Thai food

  • *****

My fiancée and I were visiting Tahoe for the night and were in the mood for Thai food. We saw the positive reviews on Yelp for My Thai and we were not disappointed! The place had an authentic feel and the waitstaff were very attentive and welcoming. We ordered the fried crab cream cheese ragoons, the pumpkin red curry, and the chicken and shrimp pad Thai. The ragoons came out incredibly fast and were some of the best we've ever had anywhere! The medium curry was pretty spicy (so be warned!) and was served in an edible, crispy fried shell. Yummy!

  • *****

    this place is good!

  • *****

We had an excellent dinner for 4 after spending the day skiing at Northstar.  The food was served hot and freshly made.  We had the Hangover Noodles, Pad Thai, Spicy Basil Fried Rice, and Shrimp with Asparagus.  All were excellent and served family style .   We have added this place to our travel book and will definitely dine here again when we visit Lake Tahoe again this summer.  Highly recommended.

  • *****

My family had lunch here last sunday. And everything we ordered were great! We had fresh spring roll and chicken satay for our appetizer. The pineapple fried rice is flavorful, my mom is looking for more of the pineapple taste, but for me, it was perfect already. I loved the thickness of the mango curry, the mango didnt add anything to the flavor though. the vegetable delight was perfectly cooked... And for the drinks, the thai iced tea is refreshing and though they do not have any juice on the menu that's red, they came up with a drink that's red as requested by my brother.. All in all the experience was great because aside from the food, their staff is extra friendly and sees to it that we are happy with what we're eating.. I am from the Philippines, and have tried other thai restaurants, so far, this place is the best :)

  • *****

Great ambience, excellent service and yummy food! As good as it gets, especially in a place like Tahoe!

  • *****

Woohoo, one of a kind, you never expect to experience  such yum in a corner of a parking lot. These guys rock, the food and the quality is just super good. I had the yellow curry, and also we shared couple of soups and appetizers. I also tried the Pad Thai, omg, it was the best I have ever had. The quick service and very friendly staff made it even a better experience. Will definitely be back next time I am in Tahoe.

  • *****

I have come here many times and every time it is spot on! The food is perfect every single time and I love the fact they ask 1-5 on spice level. And even if you order it to spicy they will remake it. The customer service is amazing! I have never received such amazing service every time. Normally my husband and I just go alone but tonight we brought along the crazy kids and they were beyond accommodating. I always recommend this place and will do so even more now! The food is perfect an so is the service.

We came to south Tahoe on vacation and after reading all the great reviews of this place, decided we had to try it.  We eat a lot of Thai food and this place was definitely one of the best we've had.  Everything we got was delicious!

We got the Basil Calimari,  hangover noodles and the panang curry.  It was all so good!  We highly recommend eating here, especially if you like Thai food as much as us!

What a find! Yelp reviews were so good on this place we had to check it out. Called in a reservation for 4 adults and 2 17-month old twins. When we arrived the table was set up with two high chairs and 2 covered sippy cups with water and straws promptly arrived for the kids. The decor was cozy and elegant but not overdone, classy. The entire staff doted on the children the whole evening. They were so warm and friendly. The food here was not to die for but to live for! Gorgeous presentation and so flavorful. Veggies done to perfection, nothing overdone. We all shared pineapple fried rice, orange chicken, Pad Thai, duck soup and a scrumptious pork dish. We found out that this is a small family run business with mama as the head chef. Every single staff member was so attentive to detail. What an amazing find. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back!

This place is amazing! Worth the drive! Definitely check it out. Portion is good and price is reasonable.

Decor is like many other Thai restaurants. Looks clean but tight quarters. Ordered the Thai tea, which was good. Also got the chicken and shrimp pumpkin curry. It was very good, and the presentation was amazing. Friends ordered the "Hangover Noodles" which is the equivalent of drunken noodles at other Thai restaurants. They ordered level 3 spicy, but it came out pretty spicy. Flavoring was really good. They somehow lost my ticket to go to the kitchen and my food didn't come out with the others. The waiter was really nice and made sure that my dish was a priority when he noticed my food didn't come out on time. The pricing was decent, at about $12-$15 a dish. Overall a good experience, good atmosphere, and good food. Would definitely come back to try other dishes when I'm in the area.

Ordered the Yellow Curry w chicken, Snow Pea w beef, pad see ewe w chicken.  Curry was creamier than I usually get at my usual faves, but still good.  Tried it as mild... Perhaps that's what made it more bland.  The snow pea w beef was absolutely delicious. Flavoring was light teriyaki type of sauce. Peas were cooked but still nice and crispy and flavor was spot on! The pad see ew had the fried egg just on top, not mixed in. I personally like this style for presentation as it made the color contrast pop and look delicious.  The noodles were cooked perfectly with the broccoli also cooked perfectly.  The portion was generous on all three of these dishes. Just wish the money bag came as order of five or six instead of four.  I didn't enjoy the giant altar of Buddha as a huge focal point of the main dining room; just seemed gaudy and overdone.  More tasteful decor would make it enjoyable more.  Also, there was a strange placement of a table at the entry that holds pitchers of waters to refill tables.  Seems a nice furniture piece like a cabinet would serve better... And perhaps keep take-out customers from sneezing right onto all the pitchers (I watched another customer do that)... Gross.  That's what brought it to my attention why a strange placement of pitchers.  Seems awkward to the overall nice Thai themed decor; even the servers are wearing traditional clothing.   I would come back to eat here... Perhaps just NOT drink the water.  Portions were nice.

During that night its holiday and the restaurant is full. We been waited for like 1 hour before we sat down. But its worth it because the service is very good. Food served in the timely manners and our server is very apologetic and attentive for our need. Food is authentic and rich in flavor. I think this is recommended thai food in town. Try it!!! Do Reservation or come early to avoid waiting.

Oh My Thai, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...

    1. While the restaurant is small, they successfully give the room a spacious, colorful and bright look and feel.

    2. This is some of the best Thai food I have ever had. Like, better than city Thai food by a mile. I'm jealous of tahoe for having this delicious food. The panang curry is to die for.

    3. The service is amazing. Genuinely pleasant and happy to talk to you. Clearly willing to take the time to get to know their customers.

Overall a wonderful experience. We will be coming back to tahoe and spending most afternoons lunching at My Thai. I recommend you do the same!

  • *****

I just got back from My Thai for the first time, and I loved it. I had never had thai food before, but the people I went with had, and they said it was good. We had the hangover noodles and the pad Thai, and it was plenty for the three of us. We will be going back.

  • *****

By far the best Thai food I have EVER had. .. including San Francisco,  San Diego,  Sacramento. .. definitely coming back every time in Tahoe.

  • *****

One of the best thai restaurants I have ever eaten at! :) Their food was authentic and delicious and their customer service was great.

Be sure to arrive a little early to grab a table because the restaurant itself is fairly small and there isn't alot of seating.

I ordered the hangover noodles, basil lamb, and pineapple fried rice. The dishes were a bit pricier than your average thai food (~$11-13), however, the quality and taste of the dishes were well worth the additional cost.

Highly recommended!  Will definitely come back again to try their other dishes :)

  • *****

Excellent Thai food here. The Tom Kha soup and the shrimp and tofu hangover noodles were excellent! We all are definitely coming back to this place for our next Tahoe vacation.

  • *****

I love, love, love this little restaurant. It is spotless and has a very warm atmosphere. It is very tastefully decorated with Thai ornaments, the food is delicious, and the waiter who served us was so nice and friendly! Overall it was a very, very pleasant experience. I recommend this place without hesitation.

  • *****

This place looks and feels much better than it has in the past. The lighting, the service & decor is all much improved. The food is excellent. Everything I have ever tried here has been amazing! The presentation is very good... But then I went to wash my hands. From the moment I turned in the hall that leads into the Ladies' room it was a FILTHY mess & the bathroom is squalid. That makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is. I'm going to come back again in a month or two and see if they have cleaned things up. I hope so!!

  • *****

The food is delicious and always beautifully presented.   They use quality fresh ingredients. The staff is friendly and attentive. Try the Hangover Noodle and Yellow Curry. They have $7.95 lunch specials. Lunch hours are 11:00-3:00. They open again for dinner at 5:00pm. Its my new favorite lunch spot!

  • *****

Honestly, this place is such a gem. Hangover noodles. Spring rolls! Wow. I am very impressed.

  • *****

Authentic Thai food here in South Lake Tahoe! "Hangover Noodle" and "Pad Thai" are must. But, honestly, everything is recommended!

I am Thai and this place doesn't disappoint me.

PS. Great customers service you will a big smile on your face :D

  • *****

Best Thai food in town and great service, authentic and better than Thai food in the city.

  • *****

Well I'm back for more. So I would like to add the pad Thai is amazing. I ordered the lunch special and even their salad dressing is bomb. Ok so hands down the best Thai food I've ever had. Pad Thai is so hard to find done right, I have found my new reclaimed love for pad Thai, thank you My Thai

  • *****

I love Thai food and have eaten at so many places, especially in L.A.'s Thai Town which has numerous restaurants. I can say this is thee best Thai food I have ever had.

The food is extremely flavorful. We had the green curry, Tom yum soup, Thai fried rice and Pad-see-ew. Everything was A+++.

The only draw back is their prices were a bit on the high end about $15 per plate, or $10-12 but they charge $3 extra for any type of meat, tofu, or seafood you add, whereas most Thai food restaurants automatically come with chicken, beef, or tofu.

Anyway, it was 100% worth it. Had a chat with the owner, it's a family run restaurant and the cook used to teach cooking lessons in Thailand. Please give it a try. Yum!

  • *****

Awesome, awesome, awesome that's what came out of our mouths after eating here. It's a hidden jewel and this guy from Singapore best customer service award. My fiancée who is not fond of thai food said the best pad thai ever. Loved their hangover noodles and thai ice tea. Try it to believe it!

  • *****

Came to tahoe on vacation with my friends and decided to try this place out. We were not disappointed. The first dish that came out was the avocado rolls appetizer and that completely blew me away. It was so crunchy, warm and creamy. I immediately fell in love. We also ordered the tom yum soup, pepper basil beef, pad see ew, pumpkin curry, and a couple other dishes. All were cooked to perfection. We couldnt get enough of the deliciousness so we ordered the fried banana with coconut ice cream and the mango sticky rice for dessert. So amazing! Also, our server was very friendly and attentive and was nice enough to spilt our bills when its usually not accepted to do so.

We told him we'd be back next time we vacation in tahoe and we're definitely looking forward to it!!

  • *****

Fast service, great food.   I've been there several times, and they have excellent curry and noodle dishes.  The beef salad is also excellent.

Decor is a bit cheesy, but the food is good enough to flourish in the Bay Area.

  • *****

Excellent Thai food, service is always friendly and prompt. Great lunch specials, price is pretty fair given that were in Tahoe. They can be hit and miss on how spicy each cook makes the food, but if you like the heat ask for the spice rack.

  • *****

This place is by far the best Thai place I've been to. Crispy pepper steak! Basil chicken! Tom yum soup! And the pad see ew!!

  • *****

I have to say I was very impressed with the Thai food here.

Being in Tahoe, I usually don't have high expectations for food (other than pizza), especially Asian food.  It's like you are 4 hours away from bay area, but a continent away from the kind of food that is available there than here. But being there for three days already, me and my group are sick of pizza and ramen, and decided to get some Thai.  The yelp reviews looked positive.

The parking lot was really small, but we showed up at 2pm, so it wasn't too bad. It end up being one of the best Thai food experiences that I had (at least on all the items that I wanted to order which is the paneng curry and beef pai thai).  Here is all the things we ordered:

Fried wonton: wanted the money bag, but they were out.  So settled with this and it was pretty tasty.  Crispy and just right with the sweet and sour sauce.

Beef Paneng Curry: I usually prefer chicken, but a guy friend wanted beef instead.  The beef was a little tough (this is why I don't get beef in curry), but the sauce was soooooo good. I definitely ate more rice than usual cuz the curry sauce was so good with my rice.

Combination Pai Thai: Loved loved loved this.  The pai thai noodle texture was just perfect.  And the taste was good too.  I think it came with Chicken and Shrimp.

Garlic Chicken: I only had a bite to try.  It was good.  Nothing too spectacular.

Ginger Fish: Too full by the time this came out, only had a bite for taste too.  The fish was tender, the sauce was just okay.

This is now definitely going to be my to go place whenever I am in Tahoe!!

One of best Thai food I had in a while !!

We stopped here after a ski trip (super tied and starving ), in less than 30 minutes we felt rested and well fed :D. About the place:
    - Delicious food.
    - Excellent service ( very friendly, attentive, super fast ..less than 10 minutes )
    - Very ethnic (Thai ) and beautiful ambiance

    Love it !

  • *****

This place serves awesome thai food. Worth the 20 minute wait to get the table.

Green curry, hangover noodles and potstickers were great!

  • *****

I always get the yellow curry and it is absolutely amazing. Their food has a lot of flavor and they allow you to choose your spice level. Although sometimes even a 2 out of 5 is a little too spicy and a 4 on the spice level is not spicy enough so you kind of have to be more specific about how spicy you really want your food. My Thai has awesome prices too and great lunch specials with plates starting at just around $8 which include soup and salad on the side.

  • *****

Thank God for Thai people. Even in the most remote locations, there always seem to be Thai restaurants of at least decent quality. My parents recently went on a trip to see the fall colors of New England and were shocked to find very good Thai restaurants in Vermont.

I was in South Lake Tahoe for a ski trip, and was fully expecting this city of 20,000 with 75% white residents to be a culinary wasteland. Thai people to the rescue again - this place is right next to the center of town where Route 50 intersects Lake Tahoe Blvd. My Thai Cuisine serves fairly standard but tasty Thai food at prices that would be competitive in Los Angeles. Pad thai was quite good, and the hangover noodles, kind of like a spicy pad see ew with mushrooms and onions, had a wonderful combination of heat and sweetness. They even had Thai iced tea with boba. BOBA! IN SOUTH LAKE TAHOE!

The only problem with the meal was that they mixed up one of the orders (the waiter apparently heard "chicken satay" instead of "chicken pad thai"), which resulted in one of my friends having to wait quite a while to get his food. However, the staff were so nice and apologetic that we almost felt bad that they had to remake the order.

After a quick scan of the Yelp pages for other restaurants in South Lake Tahoe, I would say that My Thai Cuisine is one of the top 5 restaurants in the city. It's not Hollywood-quality Thai food, but probably one of your best bets if you're eating out here.

I've been to this exact location a number of years ago and I think it was called Thai Nakorn or something of that sort - anywho, I liked our food then and with the new owners I still like the food.  Everything was as it should be - favorful and yummy.  We ordered the pad thai, basil chicken and red curry with chicken.  All of it was good and their portions are a good size, we had left overs that we took back to cabin and ate it the next day - it tasted fine then as well.

Now we usually eat Thai food in the bay and when those places askes us for the spicy rate we always say 5 (the spiciest) and we did the same thing here but their 5 is more like a 2 - not that spicy at all.  I also ordered a thai ice tea and it was fine but a bit too sweet and I saw a couple of black coffee ground looking things floating in the drink.. which is a bit odd because I ordered a thai ice TEA!!!

The restaurant is a bit small and cramped as well as their parking lot but the decor is nice. We had a party of 6 people and even then they couldn't accommodate us so we split to two separate tables.  Anyhow, it worked out and it was fine.

I rated it a 4 star for it being in South Lake Tahoe - I really can't compare it to Bay Area standards because the Bay does it best!  Now if it was in the Bay Area it would be more like a 3 star place.

Great food! Spring Rolls with peanut sauce, yummy! Curry, spicy, but awesome! Great service!

One of the best restaurants in South Lake tahoe. The Pad Thai is awesome and try the fried banana with ice cream for dessert.

  • *****

Came here around 7pm for dinner after a day of skiing. Had to wait ~30 minutes to be seated (party of 2) but this is exactly what they estimated and the host was very professional, gracious and worked well under pressure despite having to manage an overwhelming amount of people who crowded the front door area. This was during the holiday season. This place doesn't have too many tables for 2. Once seated, we got our food quickly. Their spice scale (1-5) measures up to 2=spicy and 3=hot. Great Thai Iced Tea with Boba - not too sweet, highly recommend!

  • *****

Husband and I came up to Tahoe for New Years and had a great lunch here. We eat Thai from all over and this place was definitely top quality. Only down side was service is a bit slow. New restaurant during a holiday though, so we gave them benefit of the doubt. (We ordered chicken pad thai, potstickers and shrimp tom yum). Delicious! The decor is very nice too. It's a cozy place. Definitely worth a try!

  • *****

Little restaurant. Very crowded and parking slot is limited too. Be prepare to waiting for a parking a lot and waiting to be seated.
The food itself is good, traditional and cheap Thai food.  If you are not patient or are very hungry, don't come here during busy hour,  the time between you arrive and food be in front of you is at least 40 mins

  • *****

This was our 2nd time there in a week. Awesome food and great customer service. Highly recommend to anyone who wants good Thai food at affordable price.

  • *****

This spot is a great treat amongst the sea of fast food and pubs that line South Lake Tahoe Blvd.  It was fresh, portions were moderate, but classy and flavorful.  We had great service even with the crowd.  The only draw back is they need more tables....but, their building affords a very comfortable, family feel.

  • *****

    Great thai food!

Highly recommend their Penang curry and eggplant lovers!

Perfect blend of spice and flavor for a cold snowy night :)

  • *****

Perfect place to get Tasty n hot  thai food in cold snowy tahoe. They have a beautiful thai decor.

Must try their hangover noodles which has Lots of veggies n chicken n not just noodles.
Also chicken satay is awesome with peanut sauce !! Ask for some extra sauce!!

Highly recommend this place if in south tahoe :)

If you are in South Lake Tahoe area and have a craving for Thai Asian, you must Coe and try the food.. Friendly and humble family restaurant ...

  • *****

First time eating here tonight love it. The manager is really chill and the food is awesome. Definitely coming back here in the future

  • *****

Better than the two previous Thai places in this location.  New owners and family are very nice and food is good.  Prices are a bit high and don't bother with the fried shrimp or lobster appetizers they are a waste of money.  Noodle dishes are excellent.  Larb is not served with lettuce leafs which I am used to eating like a lettuce wrap, but flavor was good.  Curries I tried were good.  Thai orchid has gone downhill in the last couple years so this will be my new spot, but I will probably just go for the lunch specials in the future.  Party of two for a late lunch and I dropped $76!

If you're anticipating going to a restaurant on Christmas day... No matter the circumstances you never leave a one star review. I'm sure Dennys food was really worth the 10 minute wait but I'll write an honest review,  worthy of the wait I did on Christmas (from a LOCAL's perspective) :
The restaurant was nicely decorated,  the staff was prompt and friendly and even though we were shoulder to shoulder waiting for a table we were not ignored.  Upon being seated,  no time was wasted.  We got our delicious Thai iced teas,  water and placed our order.
The food was hot,  plentiful and delicious.
Five stars,  for this restaurants patience, thankfulness of our patronage and for providing delicious food for my family on Christmas evening.
Happy Holidays My Thai.  Thanks again.

Came here last night with my family. Have this place a try since we always go to Orchid Thai on our trips here and decided to check this place out. We came in for dinner right around 5:30 pm and thank goodness we did then. A few mins after us, the place was completely packed and the door was opening nonstop the entire time we were dining. The food wasn't bad. Lots of veggies and meat in your noodles like one reviewer said. I was disappointed as well since I really wanted more noodles, but for someone like my brother who is a protein addict, he really enjoyed it. All our dishes were great and even at a 3 level of spice, it singed the top of my mouth every time (great!). The service was great despite them being extremely busy. Just for reference, we ordered the crying tiger, basil lamb, ginger chicken, Tom yum or tom Ka soup (can't remember), hangover noodles, eggplant lover, and the mango curry. Will definitely coming back the next time we're in town.

  • *****

Stopped by for lunch, it's very nice location, parking took a while due to small parking lot. The food is good, on a scale of 5, I got the spicy of 3. It was very spicy. Would come back again.

  • *****

One word to describe....awesome! I was hesitate at beginning that there's only few review?turns out? the food is fantastic! Very traditional flavor, very tasty and the price is affordable as well! This is my new favorite in lake tahoe?definitely will miss after I left!

We go here regularly, the service is great (friendly and fast), the food is always very fresh and wonderful and we love the atmosphere.  Our regular dishes are the scallop asparagus, mango curry and the hangover noodles.  You will not be disapointed!

Nicely decorated interior. Seems very authentic. Pad Thai was really good and quite a large portion. Also the crab ragoon is delicious, slightly sweet and very rich tasting.

  • *****

Walk in to beautiful, authentic Thai decor.
The staff is dressed in traditional clothing, very cool visual for the theme of the restaurant. Thai iced teas served to perfection. The best seafood fried rice I've ever had! Their service matches the delicious food. This place is a must try. Bon appetit!

'My Thai' food was outstanding and they treated us like Royalty!! It was a delightful dinner.

Awesome Thai food. Ate until I couldn't eat anymore and we still had enough for leftovers.

  • *****

With all the places to choose from in Tahoe... you will not be disappointed when you eat here!

  • *****

We love Thai food and love trying new Thai restaurants. My Thai really impressed us with the quality and taste of the food, and their amazing service. Thai restaurants usually have one or two dishes that taste authentic to us, but all 5 of our dishes were delicious. The owners are very friendly and helped us directly and the service was very fast and responsive. It's definitely our new go to place when we go to Tahoe!

  • *****

Delicious food. I had chicken chow mein, fried rice and both really good. Boba Thai tea absolutely delicious. Great food, nice place, very attentive servers.

  • *****

My husband and I live in North Lake Tahoe and have been horribly disappointed by most Thai food anywhere near the lake since we moved here from San Francisco. Then we found My Thai. It was delicious. We have gone back everytime we find ourselves in South Lake because it is just so good. My favorites of our orders so far were the Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, and Pinapple Curry. That said, everything we have tried has been awesome. I strongly recommend stopping by. Plus they have Boba for your Thai iced coffee/tea!

  • *****

We were here for lunch today. It's managed by new owner now. We ordered all vegetarian food - yellow curry, noodles, fired rice and spicy basil sauteed vegetables. All the food was very tasty. The service was very good. If you order your dish with tofu, it will come with lots of tofu. The brown rice comes with a slight seasoning which makes it tastier. I would definitely recommend this place.

  • *****

Our new favorite restaurant in South Lake Tahoe!  Make it a must see while visiting!  I wish we could take it back with us to Orange County!

  • *****

Super yummy Thai food! Great service! Some of the best curry I've ever had. We tried the spring rolls, red curry and Thai coffee (fyi...very sweet). Everything tasted really fresh and very authentic. Loved this place!

  • *****

Best Thai food I ever had!!! Great customer service and delicious food!!! We had the crab fried rice and the hangover noodles!!! Highly recommended! Definitely a must-try when in South Lake Tahoe!!!

  • *****

Great food and great service. Everyone was very friendly and they handled our custom food request (crab fries rice without the rice).  Even gave us all dessert afterwards.

  • *****

Great experience. The service is awesome -- very friendly folks. Get the crab fried rice and any of the duck dishes (spicy basil duck or duck in green curry). Good times.

  • *****

Great food and super friendly staff! :)

The staff was amazing! They went out of their way to work with us vegetarians so that we get a delicious meal. I strongly recommend this place.

  • *****

Stopped in here just to grab something different...and that is what we got... great flavors, different tastes and textures.   Friendly wait staff.... we went back a few nights later, still fantastic.  Good for small groups up to 6.  But really the right size for 2-4 person groups from what I seen.  Definitely worth it. Unique menu.  They make sure your happy.   star based on what I think a Thai food place should be...

  • *****

On our way out of Tahoe we decided Thai would hit the spot. We ordered the Rangoon and 2 orders of spicy hangover noodles. Woah, it was spicy. Our noses were running but it was delicious. Added 2 Chang beers to top off the meal. Our meal came out to about 40. Great place.

  • *****

This restaurant used to be Thai Benjarong but has now been renamed My Thai under new ownership. My party of 4 came here for lunch on Sunday and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the thai food here. Best Thai in town-- we've been to the others.

Authentic, great flavors, legit spice level (be careful!). We ordered crab fried rice, red curry with chicken, hangover noodles (pad kee mao), and their spicy chicken special.

Crab fried rice- very good, lots of crab, seasoned perfectly, great wok flavor
Red Curry with Chicken- standard, a tad on the sweet side for me. Next time will ask them to make it less sweet
Hangover noodles- great flavor, tons of veggies and meat, not too much noodle, to my dismay.
Spicy Chicken special- Wow. this was a very unique dish--I haven't encountered it at any Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. Super flavorful, had some herbs in it, can't wait to go up there to order it again!!!

    Service was prompt, friendly, professional.

Frame of reference: We are all from the SF Bay Area, where there are lots of Thai restaurants around. Sadly, few are as good as My Thai. That's how good this place is!!!

  • *****

Now this restaurant is called "My Thai" since the owner only recently took over. Tonight was our last night here in Tahoe and we decided to go for Thai food. This was probably the best choice we could have made for dinner. We're all from Asia (Hong Kong and Beijing), and even though we travelled to Thailand multiple times before, we have never tasted such authentic Thai food with rich flavors with a lot of depth. We ordered the Papaya Salad, pumpkin curry and a steamed red snapper which was off menu. The sauces that the chef used for the steamed fish hit all the right notes, and the pumpkin curry was creamy, sweet and hot.

The waiter was also extremely nice. He and his family only recently took over this restaurant a few months ago. He was extremely friendly and kept a conversation with us throughout. We eventually got to meet his family. The chef was the waiter's mother-in-law and she was so sweet and welcoming. I would DEFINITELY recommend this restaurant to everyone!

  • *****

Superb restaurant.  The family was craving thai food so I yelped and came across this restaurant since it was the closest to where we were. The restaurant is decorated beautifully inside with thai decor and the staff is super friendly.  We ordered the basil lamb, broccoli tofu, soup with shrimp, and the hangover noodles, hot jasmine tea and iced thai tea.  have to say the food was delicious,  flavor was just perfect in everything and the serving portions were sharable. The staff checked up on us multiple times to see if there was anything else needed. I wish this place was in Sacramento because the food was great but I would highly recommend this place and will definitely revisit when I'm in Tahoe again.

  • *****

I didn't expect to love this place.  The lunch special is incredibly priced and the offerings are well rounded.  I struggled because they had a daily specials board that had my curiosity.  But, I always judge a Thai place on their curry and pad kee mao (sp?), so I will just have to come back.  Because both dishes were on point, the curry was not watery but not on the verge of becoming a solid.  My noodles were perfectly cooked. The veggies were all so fresh and spices all came trough on each dish.

The customer service was a bit awkward at first, but they became more and more welcoming with every bite.

  • *****

Excellent food and service! Literally the best Thai I have ever had and the hubby and I are Thai connoisseurs!  Julius the part owner is most pleasant and attentive.  We ordered green curry and catfish curry and were not disappointed.  Perfect combination of depth and spice! Looking forward to stopping here on every trip to Tahoe!

We recently started going to My Thai. This place is amazing. The service is great and the food is even better. I have dined and have ordered take out about 3 or 4 times and it has always been great. I know good Thai is hard to find but we have found our place in South Lake Tahoe.

  • *****

Such a marvelous thai restaurant. It is under new management. So, the food is revamped and I like it. The drunken noodle/hangover noodle is a must

My friend recommended this Thai place just open up,  We went today with high expectation. Everything is beyond our expectation, the server is very friendly ( I think she is the owner) helpful with the menu. We tried pumpkin curry , hang over noodle and My Thai sizzling. OMG! Absolutely amazing!!!! Everything is perfect.
The restaurant is great decor, they fixed up the place, now it really beautiful and clean. The restroom look nice and clean.
The time we've been there, parking lot is full, so we parked at "KEN TIRE" next to the restaurant , they are nice.
It is my new favorite Thai restaurant in Lake Tahoe. Awesome experience, ambience, super sweet service, most importantly GREAT FOOD!!
I can not say enough how good this place is!!! EXTREAMLY RECOMMENDED!!!

We're from SoCal and went here actually twice during our Thanksgiving getaway. I've tried many Thai places from SoCal and I have to say My Thai Cuisine food were great. Though of course with the Yelp effect, expect the wait while you're there, though not that much. We will come back if we happen to be in South Lake Tahoe in the near future.

My dad and I ate here right before our backpacking trip around the Tahoe Basin and we couldn't have been more charmed. They brought us some delicious complimentary crispy noodles as an appetizer and there was a tapioca thing for a complimentary desert, made with half-and-half, which--as a lactose intolerant person--I wasn't able to enjoy past a few exploratory bites; it was also really good.

My portion was smaller than I expected, but I was also unusually hungry, and I arrive with a large appetite in the best of circumstances. The food tasted excellent. My dad asked for medium spice on his dish and said it wasn't that spicy at all, so good news for people who are frightened of the high spice factor of some Thai places.

They have a six- or seven-item-long page for vegetarians, which are all variations of fake meat (tofu and others) meant to imitate traditional Thai dishes, which--for me--is always a treat, because I feel like I lost out on my favorite East Asian dishes when I stopped eating meat. There are, of course, plenty of vegetarian noodle dishes in the general offerings.

The staff was very friendly and expertly walked the line between chatting with us and giving us our space. Our water was refilled constantly. I would proudly return here with a group as a show of my great taste.

No outdoor seating, so dogs are a no-go in this place.

We always get the hangover noodles whenever we eat here. It's probably the best one I had in Tahoe and the Bay Area. We tried the catfish curry today and it was awesome, love the fresh herbs and spices. For those of you who are chilli lovers, this place is spicy heaven! Their spice level is  anything above 3 will give you a lip burning sensation, but I love it! The owners are great, service is quick and food is great. Love this place and will recommend to anyone that comes up here!

We love this restaurant!!! Fresh food, wonderful flavors, excellent service.
What more do you need. It is a delight to the senses We applaud the new owners and staff.

I think they should change the special board more often. It always looks the same an its too overcrowded.
Happy to see the restaurant is under new management. I think this place has a lot of possibilities. It's a great alternative to the one down the road.

After multiple A+ meals from My Thai in the last two months, I felt compelled to come on here and let everyone know that this place is positively delicious. The restaurant is owned by a truly lovely family and it shows in the food and wonderful atmosphere.
My Thai blows every other thai restaurant from here to Oakland out of the water!

I personally love the Hangover Noodle and Green Curry - though every dish is flavorful and packed with fresh ingredients. Vegetables are done to perfection (not overcooked) and the meats are all of delicious texture... I just finished enjoying a dinner there and yet I'm still salivating as I think about the spectacular flavors upon my lips. Very glad I have some leftovers to look forward to - the portions were quite perfect.

Since it's the low season they have a little extra time to pamper their guests... pampering indeed! My boyfriend and I left with huge smiles on our faces and I look forward to dining with them many times to come.

Here in Lake Tahoe for a mini vacay and decided to venture out for food on our second day.  Based on yelp reviews, we decided to come here to try it out.   It doesn't look like much from the outside but very nicely decorated inside with authentic Thai decorations.  You are greeted by servers dressed in colorful garments.  We got seated fairly quickly.  We ordered Tom Yum Soup with shrimp and chicken pad Thai.  They give you these wonton strips for appetizers.  I don't know what it is but it was so good.  We didn't even wait 10 minutes and our food came out already. We were happy about that because we were starving.  The Pad Thai was delicious. The flavors were very balanced.  I liked mine with a kick so I asked them for some chili paste.  The soup was good too.  It wasn't too sour or sweet like ones I've had before.  The soup came with 7 shrimps and pretty good sized shrimp too.  It had basil, mushroom, onion and tomatoes.  Very yummy.  Both dishes were substantial.  We shared the dishes between two people and we had seconds. All for around $30.

The hostesses were great. They always checked on us and kept our glasses filled with water.

Overall I highly recommend this place.  Would definitely come back here if I had an opportunity.

The service was also outstanding. Very pleasant and attentive.

Had dinner there with my friends. The food was great and had about 8 different dishes all very good. Great service and very comfortable place. Will be going there when we come up again, about every two weeks.

I really like Nakorn because of the consistency in food, the good sized portions and the prices. The atmosphere makes me feel like I'm in an authentic Thai restaurant. There isn't a huge selection of Thai food in SLT and being Thai, I really love going to Nakorn to get my fix. The servers are very friendly and the lunch special is affordable and tasty. I highly recommend this spot.

Tahoe style thai food.  Food is delicious.

Good place, especially considering the only other option in south shore is Orchids (boo!).  After trying Orchids multiple times and having it a) take forever, and b) get shorted on food, we decided to try Nakorn.  Yum!  Pretty good sized menu and decent prices for Thai food.  QUICK service on to-go orders.  Haven't actually eaten in there, but judging from a quick glance around, I'd definitely dine in there sometime too.  Food portions are AWESOME, and the staff is super friendly.  Definitely will be trying more of this place!

Happened upon this cute restaurant while visiting Tahoe. Oh my god - definitely the best Thai food I have ever tasted. We ordered several dishes, including the crab pad thai and the crab fried rice, and both were absolutely delicious - I wanted to come back the next day! Thought the original pad thai was a bit too sweet though. The prices were reasonable, around $14 for a pad thai (about 2 servings). The only drawback was that the restaurant was small and needed more staff; the food took a while to arrive. But the waitress was very friendly and  efficient.

Consistently good food and terrific lunch specials make this my new favorite restaurant.   I've not tried any of the daily specials because I'm still not sick of my 3 or so rotating favorites, but there's usually interesting seafood dishes that almost tempt me out of my routine.  Almost.

Efficient service and a nice array of wines by the glass make this a great option for lunch or dinner.

Assuming, of course, that you actually love Thai food!

I eat alot of thai food and this place is at the top of the list. The service was great. Place was very clean. Easy parking. The food was fresh and prepared by a master chef. Every entree has its own unique flavor. If you like it spicy ask for it. If you don't you'll like the way it's prepared.

We went to Thai Nakorn back in November '12, and overall, it is awesome, and I would certainly go back.

My girlfriend and I had Pumpkin Curry and a Rice Noodle dish, and enjoyed both tremendously. I'm not a harsh critic of Thai/Japanese cuisine, since most places seem to cook decent dishes. Service and ambience are big factors for me, as the enjoyment factor goes. We went mid-week, and both were great!  Prices were reasonable as well, but I understand food and labor cost in restaurants, so you get what you pay for, usually. I have reviews forthcoming for Orchid Thai, and Naked Fish, where we have dined at this week.

Probably one of the best Thai food I've ever eaten.
We had a big party (only 10 of us made it here) and we didn't have any problem getting seated, no wait.

    The run down:
Tom Yum Goong Soup - very good. It was extremely cold and the warm soup was a perfect way to start our meal.
Satay Chicken - was good. It was on the pale side (color wise) though. But the two sauce that accompanied it were very good, specially the pickled Thai chili sauce.
Panang Beef - a family favorite was very good. Not an over powering curry flavor with perfectly cooked beef and vegetable.
Catfish curry - excellent, my favorite dish of the night.
Salmon curry - excellent. It was so good, I was only able to taste the sauce & vegetables. This dish did not make it to my end of the table. Lol
Pad Thai - 3 orders (Chicken, Beef  & Tofu) - all excellent, I liked the tofu the best
Pad See Ew (Chicken) - excellent (per my wife) the best ever she has tasted. This was a take home order. My wife had to stay with my son at the hotel. He was too worn out by the travel and just wanted to sleep.

The service was very good. My sister went to this restaurant last year and had to write notes on how to improve their service on two napkins & gave it to the manager. The food was good, service wasn't. Big improvement on that this time around.

Parking - small parking area. We had to park at the tire store (which was closed)  next door.

I would recommend this place. Everyone of us enjoyed our meal.

We happened on to this place by accident. I have to say, this was fresh, cooked to order (you could hear the sizzling in the backround) Thai food. I had the Avocado Curry which was delicious and a good size portion. We also had the Spicy Basil Squid...the squid was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. I live in Los Angeles and helped teach Thai cooking classes....I would frequent this restaurant if I lived here and am dying to go back for some of the other interesting menu items listed.

Best Thai food in town. Nice place to eat.

  • *****

Very good atmosphere, food and service!   The food came super fast and they kept our water glasses always at least half full.  If you ask for your dish "spicy," be prepared that it will be SPICY!

  • *****

My boyfriend and I just came back from our first visit to Thai Nakorn.  We tried going there in Truckee but we weren't able to, so we decided to give the S. Lake Tahoe location a try.

    We had:
Thai eggrolls - crispy, very good.
Chicken satay - really nicely grilled with a slight smoky flavor, and the peanut sauce was amazing.
Pumpkin curry - they added a bit of spice and kick to it, which really set off the sweetness of the pumpkin.
Massaman curry - I think if peanut sauce could be made into an amazing curry, it would taste like this.

The food was really delicious - boyfriend and I said this was the best Thai food we've had in years.  We wish we could transplant the entire restaurant to the Bay Area where we actually live.  If Thai Nakorn wasn't 4 hours away, we'd be here every other weekend, at least.

On top of the food, the service was phenomenal.  They were prompt, friendly, and attentive.  Just a very positive vibe.  Decor was also good as well.  Overall, the whole package.

Additional note - I'm a big fan of Thai iced coffee.  Never liked Thai iced tea...until I tried boyfriend's ice tea.  Wow.  I ended up ordering one to go (the ice coffee was amazing too!).

And final note - this is my first Yelp review.  It takes a lot to actually compel me to sign up in order to post a review.

Being from the Bay Area we are spoiled having so many great Asian restaurants. We tried Kalanis the night before for dinner and that was a big fail. We were so scared to eat out again, but we had no choice either to eat or starve.

So we came to Thai Nakorn after finding it on yelp. It's a small restaurant that is made out of logs or just looks that way. Service was friendly and we were immediately given water when we sat.  We were hungry so we ordered: Tom yum soup, chicken wings, eggplant with tofu, green curry, hangover noodles, and papaya salad.  All made with a spicy level of 2.

I was surprised that the food was actually spicy! 2 was just the right amount of heat and I didn't need any of the pickled peppers.  All the food was good just a couple issues - chicken wings were questionable if they were cooked thoroughly as some wings still looked pink on the inside, green curry seemed a little watery in taste (not enough coconut milk) and hangover noodles were a little mushy.  Besides that - everything was tasty and delicious! I am very happy we came here to eat for our last dinner in Tahoe!

Awesome food and great service, particularly from the girl who does Namaste! I'll definitely go here again.

This was by far one of the best Thai places I've tried. I'm from San Francisco Bay area so there's a ton of competition when it comes to Thai food. I was blown away with this little hole in the wall. When I arrived to pick up my order the line was out the door, not that it was surprising because the place was so small, but still, people were waiting for seats and happy to wait. I ordered the pad thai noodle special and the shrimp hangover noodles, both were to die for! The hangover noodles totally reminded me of something I'd want to eat hungover, the noodles were cooked perfectley and there was ample shrimp in the dish. The noodles and shrimp had this sort of smokey taste to them, they were DELICIOUS! The pad thai was just as good, nice spice to it and plenty of chicken and shrimp in it. The tofu was cooked just right as were the noodles. I will definitely return during our next ski adventure :)

I would give this place 10 stars if possible. T-h-e B-E-S-T Thai food I EVER HAD! (And I've even been to Thailand) Here's the run down of what we had:

    Crab fried rice
    Pat Se Ew
    Garlic lover with chicken
    Chicken noodle soup
    Hangover noodles
    Yellow curry

Bottom line we stayed 3 nights in SLT and ate here 66.6% of the time (that's 2/3 for people who didn't know) If you are in SLT and need to eat (well) come HERE! Thank u thts it!

Outstanding food. went for lunch with the family. had soup and spring rolls.  I think this place might be a cross the street from the old location. owner was very accommodating to children.  Great customer service.

    Crab fried rice $14.95

One of the best Thai restaurants I've eaten at. I wasn't expecting this place to be as good as it was. It was so delicious! Everything was well seasoned and the drunken noodles were my favorite!!!! The portions were also a nice size. I would totally go back if I'm in the area and recommend it to others.

  • *****

    Very very good Thai food.
My favorite dish is the "hangover noodles" i.e. spicy basil noodles. The flavor is AMAZING. I have had it with chicken and tofu. The chicken is a little better.
Don't get Panang curry if you like the traditional preparation. This one is a peanut sauce, not that great.
Here is what I have had that I recommend:
    pad thai
    tom kah gai
    hagnover noodles
    green curry
    mango w sticky rice
    spring rolls(fresh)
    spring rolls(fried)
    chicken satay

For the 'food snobs' who  are "From SF so we hate food everywhere else and would rather starve to death than eat in any other city!" I say this: Do you go to Fisherman's Wharf for dinner in SF? Heck no - it's a tourist trap. So why do you eat at Heavenly Village or other obvious tourist traps here? Derp.

Get off the strip and try some local places for your best bet. My hubby grew up in SF sailing the bay and says Nakorn's is the closest to the best SF Asian food he ever had.

Nakorn's is the best Thai (possibly best food period) I have ever had in South Lake Tahoe, and I have spent years here. I have eaten Thai at supposedly the 'best' Thai restaurant in southern Ca. Nakorn beat them hands down.

Royal Seafood Curry is absolutely to die for.
Every time we come here the food has us all sighing in pleasure - sharing bites from our plates all evening.

Thai Nakorn fried rice compares to any fried rice you can find in the deepest recesses of China Town in SF- and that is saying a lot.

I have eaten at just about every restaurant in SLT and if I could only eat at one restaurant a year this would be it.

Oh and when you are done with dinner, check out the funky little ancient log house with the thrift store out back. Totally unconnected to the restaurant- but you can find some pretty amazing things there.

  • *****

I don't get it.  The restaurant is NOT CLOSED as reported.
But it might have a name change.
Seems pretty much the same to me.
    Sign outside may be different.
Anyway, you can get fine thai food at this address as of August 2013.

This place was closed for a while this summer, but they're open again (same owners) and  that's a good thing! Great food.....especially the curry. Excellent service.

So sad, this place seems to have closed. Drive by it the other day and it has a new name. Hopefully same food and service but I will have to get back to you on that when I try it.

Can you say fantastic! Food was fresh, very flavorful , and everything taste good. I got their garlic chicken with pad Thai , both very good, i suggest anyone visiting lake Tahoe visit and eat :)

We had just spent 5 days in Tahoe and were looking to fill our belly with a hearty meal before we hit the road for 4-hours back to SF.  All our favorite lunch spots were closed on Christmas Day.  We came across this place.  We walked in and every table was full.  Although the staff was running around and appeared extremely busy, this didn't effect the quality service.  All the staff from host, waiter to busboy were very friendly.  The food came out rather quickly.  I would highly recommend the Spicy Cat Fish dish.  We ordered 3 to 4 appetizers and 4 dishes - all were delicious!  We are going to add this to our restaurant list for when we go back to Tahoe.

  • *****

We ate here last night and it was fabulous!! The food was delicious, We had spring rolls, papua salad, spicy curry catfish and the duck. I would order all of them again. I am up here helping a friend or a few days  and might have to go back for another meal. The owner/waiter is delightful. Attentive and creates a very nice atmosphere. The air conditioner was out and I really enjoyed having the windows open and enjoying the weather of the season.

  • *****

We ate here yesterday with friends and i must say that was the best food i had for a while. we ordered the chicken noodle soup, spicy chicken curry, hangover noodle , tom yum soup. All the food came on time and ingredients were fresh. the taste was  amazing.. the server was real friendly and was constantly checking on us to make sure everything was ok...I can't wait to come back again.

  • *****

Since we find Orchids Thai cuisine closed on July 4th we stopped here, because we made up our mind to taste Thai cuisine . We waited for 30 mins in total, then we got all we wanted. It all tasted JUST AWESOME. I tried tofu fry for appetizer , Red curry with tofu and pineapple fried rice, since I'm a lactic vegetarian I requested for without egg. Everything looks and tastes soo perfect .
Not sure whether because of long weekend there are not much attenders. Except for the time delay this place is a must try.

  • *****

Thai Nakorn is now Thai Benjorang, same owner. This is the best Thai food in town. The pumpkin curry is amazing, love green curry here too. One thing you shouldn't miss is their Tom Ka soup, it's thicker than it is at other places. I highly recommend the war wonton soup too.

  • *****

Friendly service and excellent food. Try the snow peas with chicken in oyster sauce -- ours was well prepared, not overcooked. Won ton soup also excellent.
